Personality
Basil is a viscet with inherently low presence. He is small, steps softly, and speaks softly. His soft sandy coat with green feathers does not grab attention easily, especially when he’s in his favorite place, the forest. He wants nothing more than to relax in the forest, unbothered by others. Basil's social skills are poor. He is naturally quite intelligent and taught himself how to read and write decently despite being given practically no opportunity to do so. Loves bowties as he thinks they look like birds and believes he looks quite snazzy in them.

Backstory
Basil was an orphan who, perhaps because he was small and quiet, didn't get along with many of the other young viscets he grew up with. Finding the orphanage dull at best and chaotically confusing at worst, Basil often used his inherent sneakiness to take breaks to hang out in the forest. He preferred the company of the birds to the company of the other viscets. He envied the wings and the freedom the birds had. He learned how to imitate many bird calls. If he could not fly like a bird, at least he could sing like one. One day, Basil noticed travelers passing through. He also noticed their food was better than what the orphanage provided. He tried to steal some and nearly got away with it. However, these travelers were skilled mercenaries and though Basil was sneaky, he was unskilled. They were quite impressed by the natural skill of one so young with no training, so they offered him a place in their party. Basil accepted. Their food was better, after all. Basil was trained to be a spy, the eyes of the mercenaries. Basil naturally excelled at this role with his ghost-like presence. His skills of reading and writing also helped immensely while the mercenaries were in town. None of the other mercenaries besides the leader, Lamar, were literate. Lamar often takes Basil with him into town to help negotiate work.
