Back story:
Amri was raised in a cult as a “sacred maiden”. She had been told since her birth that her purpose was the serve and eventually die for the leader of this cult. Amri followed this birthright out of fear, worried that they would hunt her down and torture her if she did not comply. On her 16th birthday, she was set to be sacrificed by the cult leader to their “god”. However, the night before the ceremony, a group of cleric’s a paladin’s came to her rescue. The cult was disbanded, the leaders killed or arrested, and Amri was taken in by the church.
After some time recovering from a life time of brainwashing, the high priestess called the cult’s survivors to her. She stated that she was granting them all a some of money and setting them up with housing so that they may resume living normal life’s. Many of the cut survivors took the charity and left the church. Amri stayed and instead asked the high priestess if she could serve under the goddess Desna. The high priestess was shocked by this but obliged. She started her paladin training and, at 21, passed her Paladin trials.
Amri was known for her strict devotion and loyalty to the church. The high priestess often sought her out to do the harsher work of a paladin. Seeing that this was only hardening her further, the priestess asked her to work with a younger cleric. They would go out into the public and spread the word of Desna to the people. Amri was skeptical at first and had to admit that she disliked the cleric greatly. It became clear though that she was growing a soft spot for him and often found that she enjoyed his company. They are currently working on researching and disbanding cults like the one she once belonged to.
