StoryEarly Life The only daughter of a Dragoon of Ishgaurd, Yura was a beloved child, despite her unfortunate circumstances. Yura was born to a loving father and many family friends, but never knew her mother, who had left home on a mssion while the girl as young and never returned. Yura had to grow up at a young age, as her father, while loving and doting on the girl, was often busy. She tasked herself with taking care of daily household chores, all while keeping up with her training. Thankfully, Yura was not always alone, as she had many family friend who had come to know the girl through her mother, a final gift of sorts, before her disappearance. She grew close to the twins Alphinaud and Alisaie in her childhood during visits with her father's family, but lost touch with them after they attended the Studium. Yura's most trusted friend came in the form of a young Elezen some ten years her senior, Vetelle. The daughter of dignitaries in Ishgaurd, and former associates of Yura's mother, Vetelle bonded quickly with the younger girl, and acted as a maternal figure in her life. Despite being grateful for all she had, Yura was still curious of the fate of her real mother, and her curiosity would not be sated until she found out what happened. So, leaving home with all the knowledge of combat her father had given her, and the knowledge gifted to her by Vetelle, Yura left home at the young age of 14 on her own personal quest to find her mother. Yura eventually ended up in Gridania, having come with intent to search for clues of her mother, while also taking the opportunity to join the lancer's guild to further her training. It was evident from her first moments in the lancers guild that Yura was a degree of a prodigy, able to quickly and easily master even the most complicated maneuvers despite her young age. This raw talent soon caught the attention of the guildmaster, Ywain, who continued to monitor the girl’s progress. She was quick with her lance, but also quick to snap, and he feared the combination of the two, even for such a young girl. This fear was only forwarded when a mysterious lancer had come along to challenge the guild in a rather violent fashion. Yura had been returning from the middle of one of her missions when she encountered him in the guild hall, attempting to challenge the master. The lancer quickly turned on Yura, despite the Master’s pleas of her being but a novice and a secret concern that she may too retaliate in a way that would only end badly, but was surprised when, after Yura having stood her ground, both relented, the lancer choosing to withdraw. (WiP) Yura’s life only continued to change, as one night she was faced with an enigmatic starshower. She was confuised at first, but brushed it off. It was not until she began to speak of others of it the following day did she realize there was something very wrong. None had seen it. Yura was confused, and her confusion was only furthered by the headaches and visions she began to have. She sought answers for her ailment, doing what studying she could before close near giving up. that was, at least until she had yet another dream, a vision. She saw people, chaos, and then a place. thanalan. She had never seen it, but she knew it. she knew where it was, she knew where she had to go to find answers. Yura began her travels towards Thanalan, seeking whatever knowledge of her afflictions she could find there. Eventually, she was led to the steps of the Waking sands, home of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. She wasn't sure who they were, or what good they could do her. Yet, something felt... right. She sought answers from them, regardless. Her instinct proved true, as the Scions described Yura's ailment as the Echo, and offered Yura a place in their ranks. Yura was skeptical at first about the idea. It all seemed superstitious to her, plus committing herself to these people would have prevented her from freely searching for her mother, wouldn't it? However, it only took one simple thing for Yura to be convinced to join: The opportunity to learn more about her mother. It is through the Scions that Yura was able to learn more about her mother and her mother's shared ability in using the Echo. Yura was informed that her Mother had once been a Garlean agent, but fled the Empire after having come to discover her abilities with the Echo and fearing what would become of her. Weary and broken, Her mother surely should have died, but was saved by Yura's father. The two eventually fell in love, but Yura's mother was still fearful of her past. She never told her husband of her origins. Not long after Yura was born, her mother began to start fearing for her child's safety, never knowing when her past might have caught up with her. So once again, Yura's mother left. After leaving, Yura's mother eventually made her way to the now members of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, the first people she had ever truely come clean with about her origins. She was welcomed amoung them, but didn't remain for long. Her past had finally begun to catch up with her, and Yura's mother was forced to return to the Garlean empire in order to protect the ones she cared for. Final Fantasy XIV After her recruitment, Yura spent a great deal of time in Camp Dragonhead, generally aiming to monitor any disturbances in the Highlands, watching for any supposed Imperial and Ascian activity. A name familiar to Yura, she was happy to set out to discover Estinien's intents, having once respected the man endlessly in her youth and known him as an aquaintence through Vetelle and Aymeric. He explained why he had stolen the eye, attempting to spare Ishgard from the wrath of the wyrm Nidhogg upon his return. Estinien explains his beliefs that Yura was to be chosen as the second Azure Dragoon and she was meant to assit him in slaying the ancient dragon, despite her young age, also appealing to her desire to protect her home. Yura denied any possibilities of any "great destiny" lying before her such as a title of Azure dragoon, but promised to consider his statements. Yura continued her training for a while, attempting to think on what was said by Estinien while also being sent on final trials by Alberic. After hearing Alberic's tales of his own failure to defeat Nidhogg Yura is reaffirmed in her course of action. Estinien sends word that Nidhogg is about to make a move and requests a rendezvous at Steel Vigil. There, he turned his spear towards his former master, and revealed that the Eye told him the truth of Ser Alberic's actions twenty years ago, and that he kept the loss of the Eye from the archbishop. Denouncing him as a coward, Estinien declared his intent to slay Alberic and then take out the Great Wyrm himself. As Ser Alberic earned that his emotions leave him dangerously vulnerable to the dragon's influence, Yura was forced to take up arms in his defense. After a vicious battle, Yura had finally come to nearly defeat Estinien, however, the voice of Nidhogg began to offer power. As Estinient reached out to receive it, Yura was suddenly consumed in light, having awakened the power of the first Azure Dragoon, which manifested in the original Drachen Mail of the first Azure Dragoon. A blinding flash occured before he and the wyrmking's aura vanished. After this incident, Yura had a hard time continuing to deny her own potential, as it was clear that she was special in some way. It had come to reafirm her, in a way, having felt like nothing more than a burden for a long time. With Nidhogg's aura fading and the dragons quieting down, Ser Alberic hopes that Estinien is still out there. Having finished settling her own business, Yura rejoined the others in preperation for breaking into Castrum Centri, feeling a bit more reassured of her place within the Scions. Yura acts as a distractive force as the WoL manages to break the remaining captive Scions free. She managed to rendevue just in time to come to see that Thancred had become posessed by Lahabrea, and managed to flea alongside her cohorts. After consorting with the Alliance leaders, Yura assisits in Operation Archon, being part of the team that managed to take down Nero, Livia, and Rihtahtyn alongside the WoL.
