Uchu is a fairly short girl who looks fairly scrawny, with no visible muscle and only slight curve. Her skin is a deep purple, adorned by 6 hot pink stars on each limb, one on each hand and foot, and another five on her torso. She has eyes in the same color of her stars, and her cheeks are peppered with matching freckles. Her hair is a midnight blue-black, with a number of hot pink streaks. Originally this hair fell to her clavicle, shoulder blades, and just past her eyebrows, but at the start of the Join Training Arc, she cut it to a shoulderlenghth bob with her original straight bangs remaining unchanged.
During school, she wears the standard U.A. uniform for girls, foregoing the blazer and tie, instead only wearing a white dress shirt with the top few buttons undone and a teal pleated skirt. Instead of the standard black knee-high socks, Uchu wears white ones with the customary brown loafers.
Her hero costume consists of a desaturated pink-purple sleeveless dress with vertical riding and white-silver detailing, namely the puffy collar, hem, and edge of the tank top. On the chest is a hot pink star. Over this dress is a white utility belt around her waist, with a hot pink star as the front buckle. Other matching accessories include a pair of white spandex shorts under her skirt, white knee pads, and fingerless gloves. For shoes, she wears calf-high white boots with hot pink stars on the tongues, and hot pink soles with tiny star shaped holes in them to allow for her to easily use her Quirk.
Like most other costumes, Uchu's was altered for winter. She still wears a pink-purple dress with ridging, this one with a white star on the chest and black faux fur replacing the silver puff detailing. Her belt remains unchanged, but her other accessories have been altered to accomodate the cold. Instead of white fingerless gloves, she wears fingerless arm warmers, lined with black faux fur and detailed with star-shaped cutouts to allow Quirk use. Her boots, now thigh-high, also are lined in black faux fur, and have the same holes in the soles as her spring costume. S

Uchu can best be described as an energetic, friendly girl who has many eccentric tendencies. She is quite friendly, talking to almost everyone, but also is rather poor at telling boundaries and thus has a habit of weaseling her way into conversations that otherwise don't involve her. Furthermore, her topics don't always make sense, as she frequently bounces between topics, making her difficult to follow.
Perhaps the only topic that she is capable of staying on for any significant length of time is magical girl manga, especially her manga. She is quite proud of her alien magical girl plotline, and will animatedly launch into explanations of new ideas or plot points whenever given the opportunity. When said opportunity doesn't present itself, however, she is typically found doodling ideas, be it in class, while helping at her parents' art supply store, or in a random coffee shop where she only ever buys mochas and adds a bunch of sugar.
Despite being proud of her mangaka skills, Uchu is not a particularly boastful person. She is largely realistic about what she can and can't do with her Quirk, and has been known to scrap it even her own ideas after a few training sessions if the idea isn't meshing with her style or Quirk. Furthermore, with her main motivation for becoming a Hero being that she wants to be a magical girl, some view her as simply not taking stuff seriously enough, and believe that her confidence is because she hasn't thought anything through. This however, is false, as she is actually quite smart and, though her reason is odd, it is one that she is very serious about.
Enhanced Durability: Though her stars are made of skin cells, both Uchu and her stars are fairly resilient. Notably, she has been able to block Dabi's blue flames full force with only minimal charring to her stars, rather than them being incinerated. She also has been demonstrated as being able to fall longer distances than the average person without damaging herself, as she has on several occassions been portrayed leaping off a giant star from a high height to drop on top of an enemy.
High Pain Tolerance: Uchu has been shown regularly being subjected to pain that would put a normal human out of consciousness. Among these examples are shielding an entrance exam participant from the zero pointer robot, catching a falling building with her stars, and having her stars take the brunt of Dabi's blue flames. While these all resulted in Uchu being unable to reliably function, she was conscious and able to continue after a short break.
Highly Observant: Uchu is capable of noticing even tiny details in the people and objects surrounding her. As demonstrated in her manga, Uchu is capable of recalling and accurately recreating said details later on.
Quirk
Galaxy (銀河, ginga): Uchu can control the stars on her skin at will, moving their size and location both on her body and in 3D space. They have the same durability of her body, being an extension of it, and similarly have all the usual nerves. As such, Uchu can feel all temperatures, touch, and pain from whatever her stars are subjected to, with her smaller stars feeling more intensely due to the nerves being packed closer together. Furthermore, if a star is destroyed, it takes 2-3 days to grow back, as it is essentially made of skin cells.
Moves
Meteor (メテオ, Meta-a): Uchu uses a giant star as a hoverboard to navigate in midair.
Shooting Star (流れ星, Nagareboshi): Uchu punches or kicks an opponent, sending a star flying from the point of impact as she follows through to do more damage.
Satellite (衛星, Eisei): Satellite is a defensive move in which Uchu positions stars to orbit an ally or civilian(s) to protect them from attack or other harm.
Super Moves
Meteor Swarm 1 (流星群, Ryuuseigun): Meteor Storm is a mobility-based ability, in which Uchu rides on a star hoverboard at her top speed, using other large stars as cover, in order to close the distance between herself and the opponent.
Planetarium (プラネタリウム, Puranetariumu): After extensive Quirk training, Uchu has the ability to split her stars into smaller ones. Using this new ability, she sends a multitude of stars around opponent before splitting them all at once to surround the target, before forcing all the stars inward to hit the target from all directions.
Supernova (超新星, chōshinsei): Using her star-splitting ability, Uchu sends in a giant star, splitting it into numerous tiny ones instantaneously to create essentially an explosion of star-shaped shrapnel to hit an opponent.

Star Boots (星長靴, Hoshi Nagagutsu): A pair of boots that are designed with small, star-shaped holes in the soles. Uchu can use these holes to send her stars out from her feet, increasing her speed at using Meteor or any kick-based Quirk attacks. Incidentally, she has two pairs of these, one for warm weather, and one for cold.
Star Arms (星腕, Hoshi Ude): Only found on Uchu's winter hero costume, Star Arms is a pair of faux-fur lined arm warmers, with star-shaped holes in them. They add both protection against the cold, and the opportunity for Uchu to use her Quirk faster via the designated holes.

Uchu was born to Amano and Maru Hoshizora in a large hospital in Tokyo. There were no complications with the birth itself, Uchu being born after only 5 hours of labor. However, the newborn quickly caused a ruckus in the room as, the second she began crying and flailing, stars shot off her skin and hit various walls, equipment, and one doctor in the back of the head. This, however, only made her cry more and, with no real way to stop the newborn from using her Quirk, the hospital staff's next few days were hell.
Once she was brought home, Uchu proceeded to do the same thing there, stars shooting around the room, a parent occasionally getting hit with one before it randomly flew off again. It was only when Maru used her Quirk to distract Uchu with pretty shapes, and later when they decided to just get a baby mobile so Maru could occasionally sleep, that the Quirk situation began calming down. Of course, still being a fussy infant, and the couple's first child, raising Uchu was not exactly a walk in the park. They were very glad when she was old enough to be potty trained, play with her own toys, and generally do things that didn't involve constant crying.
Uchu's toddler years were significantly easier. As she started crawling, and later walking, the extra control over her body seemed to help prevent her Quirk from going haywire as often. Meanwhile, when Amano accidentally brought Uchu down to the art shop one day while scrambling to help a customer, he found that Uchu would just... Pull one of the test pens down and scribble on things with it. In fact, given the option to scribble on a paper or go walk around, Uchu would rather scribble. Needless to say, she became a sort of staple to her parent's art supply store: they had all their supplies to sell, and a cute toddler to demonstrate how to use them. Their regular customers loved it, and Uchu seemed to love the attention she got from it.
Needless to say, Uchu was not particularly happy when she was eventually sent to a small kindergarten at age 5 as preparation for entering elementary school the following year. Thankfully, she ended up not being too much of a handful. Rather, she seemed to hurry through whatever work she was given so she could go back to drawing. Recess was another story. The girl seemed to be the most energetic of the class, and would often get so excited to try to play with everyone that she'd even try, and usually fail, to use her Quirk to get there. Self injuries from trying to hang onto or skate on her stars were extremely common, though thankfully the only thing her stars only hit were her or a wall. Thankfully, the staff were rather accustomed to kids not listening to rules and using their Quirks, and didn't seem to mind all that much.
Unfortunately, Uchu's behavior continued well into her first year of elementary school and there, she found, someone did mind. The ridiculous part was that she didn't even hurt anyone, only showed some interested classmates that she can "make shooting stars" while they were discussing their Quirks. But someone's grandparent happened to be there to pick them up and flew off the rails over her Quirk usage, calling Uchu a "demon child."
The incident was initially explained to Uchu by her mother as "some people are just really against Quirk usage", but unfortunately that turned out to not be the case. The grandson refused to be around Uchu any longer because "Grandma says your skin is purple because you're a demon!" and, after a clueless teacher told the class that demons in Japanese mythology were typically bad, several more kids that had heard the initial comments about Uchu decided they should avoid her too. More still seemed to be wary of the girl, as they noticed some of the parents giving her strange looks.
Given the escalation of the events, Amano was forced to sit Uchu down and explain the truth: that some people just weren't comfortable with people whose Quirk affected their appearance. Either they'd hear bad rumors, or just weren't sure how to act, but that wasn't Uchu's fault and didn't make her a bad person. The girl wasn't sure she entirely understood, but she found herself content to spend more free time drawing and pushing herself on peers that treated her the least weird for the next few years at school. And at home, it was largely business as usual: she'd hang out in the shop doing homework and art, have dinner after it closed, and then watch television with her father. She became obsessed with the rerun of an older magical girl anime the second she saw one had a similar power to her Quirk.
Uchu eventually branched out to consuming a lot of different magical girl anime and manga, as well as drawing the characters in her free time. She'd often try to show it to her peers or teachers, but few of them really knew what she was talking about and would give little more than a "nice job," though that seemed to be more than enough encouragement for Uchu. So much so, in fact, that she started coming up with her own characters to draw. And when she heard about a yearly competition for aspiring mangakas in middle school and above, she decided to enter.
She didn't even place in her first year, her manga too similar to all the other magical girl content already out there, and by no means attention-grabbing enough compared to the vast amount shonen and thriller entries. With few friends, even in middle school, she had plenty of time to focus on her goal. Her life revolved almost entirely around school and pouring all her free time into improving her art and story. Her biggest breakthrough, however, didn't happen until her third year.
A new girl, one without a Quirk, transferred to Uchu's school at the beginning of that year, a mere month before the deadline for the contest, and Uchu found that she was probably the nicest person in Uchu's life, save for Uchu's own parents. Maybe it was because she related Uchu's predicament with discrimination. Or maybe she just wasn't judgmental at all. Regardless of the reason, Uchu decided that she wanted to base a character on her. Not entirely, just... Maybe some of her looks and mannerisms? She'd give her a cool power too!
The girl, however, seemed confused when she heard of Uchu's plans. Why would Uchu want to make a character based on such a common, plain girl, when thousands of those already existed in the genre? "You wanted uniqueness, right? Wouldn't... Well, wouldn't it be more interesting to make characters that look more like you?"
It was an idea that Uchu had never even considered, but the more she thought about it, the better it seemed. Characters with weird appearances like hers. But if Quirks didn't exist, which they usually didn't in the genre, how would that work...?
Uchu's manga went live online at 11:58 pm, one minute before the deadline. It could have easily been overlooked, yet votes for it to win skyrocketed. The art was great quality, the idea of aliens disguised as humans transforming into alien and sci-fi themed magical girls to fight evil was just unique enough to spark interest, and the powerless human girl assisting them in fights was adorable enough to immediately have a fan base. Despite this, Uchu fell in second place to a shonen that was clearly themed around All Might.
Uchu wasn't expecting the amount of comments that rolled in.
"This should have won!"
"Please make more!"
"This is the first time my sister saw a character that looked like her and she cried! Thank you!"
"For once, I hate All Might."
"It's dumb hero manga always win. Magical girls are basically the same thing "
That last comment gave Uchu an admittedly very weird idea. If she became a Hero, she'd be kinda like a magical girl. And she'd have more content for her manga which... Clearly, people felt she needed to continue. And so, she did exactly that, splitting her free time between training and publishing her manga until it was finally time for the U.A. entrance exams.
Entrance Exam Arc
After her loss in the manga contest, Uchu was determined to not only succeed as a mangaka, but also become a Hero. In the months leading up to the exam, she spent little time outside of school with friends; instead, all of her time was dedicated to writing more manga, and training her Quirk, mostly by attempting to train her pain tolerance and up how many stars she could accurately control at once. Given that they were part of her body, it wasn't long before Uchu was able to control them all, and know exactly where they were at all times.
Given her training, Uchu found that the exam itself wasn't particularly difficult. She couldn't puncture metal, but she could squeeze stars into joints or vents to destroy the robots from within. Meanwhile, she rode around on a giant star, evading robots and darting around the battleground. Using more large stars, she was successful in shielding several other particpants from harm, almost falling off her own star from pain each time but succeeding in destroying the offending robots.
As time counted down, Uchu stumbled upon a boy, Izumi Genki, who was using his Quirk to pour coffee on the ground, hoping to make the other robots slip. After saving him from a robot's missile, Uchu was just curious enough about his technique to inquire about it. Upon discovering that the boy could short circuit the robots, if he could reach, she decided to give him a hand.
Flying a boy up to robot control panels while also dodging her own robots and shooting stars at them was certainly not how Uchu imagined herself taking the exam, but that's how things worked out. With a good deal of points for taking down the robots, plus more for "rescuing" her peers and constantly flying Izumi out of harm's way at the end, Uchu passed with flying colors, coming in 4th with 69 points.
