Brodin is the captain of the space freighter, Ascent.
He specializes in transporting goods into high conflict areas, often having to evade marauders or smuggle food and supplies into no-go zones.
Brodin is a big proponent of second chances and likes to give the disparaged and downtrodden a chance at employment. He doesn’t really care where anyone is from or what their past is, only that they do good from that moment on.
He has a deep resonating voice that draws a room to attention. Few ever question his command - he’s a born leader.

He grew up with his mother and younger sister.
As a young adult his planet was subjected to a tyrannical take-over sparking many violent altercations between soldiers and civilians - the scar across Brodin’s eye is from a fight with the soldier that tried to take his sister away.
He never wanted to see people suffer like those on his home planet and it sparked his career as a smuggler and high stakes freighter captain.
