"Heh, I believe I have given my friend a boon, ...even in death."

Personality

Aarav is an intelligent, kind soul who is outwardly logical. Aarav doesn’t pick up on social cues easily, but he’s a thoughtful, caring person. While he pretends to not be very emotional, instead opting for a facade of a logician, he truly is emotional. He tries his best not to show it too much, but he is actually quite insecure in himself. He tends to blame himself when things go wrong, especially when it involves someone else being harmed. To help others he will push himself to his limit, even if it means his death... and it did. Aarav had died to save those around him. In death, he had become more carefree and easy on himself. He allows himself to love others more easily, he allows himself to forgive himself more easily. He becomes a happier person, helping those in the afterlife just as he had while being alive. Aarav is a truly good person, and that does not change in death.

Appearance

Standing at 166.3 centimeters, Aarav is a small guy. He’s very lean, almost a bit underweight, and any muscles he has shows easily. He is brown-skinned, with dark brown, black passing, short hair, that is a little coarse to the touch. He has dark brown freckles, as well as some moles that blend along with some moles that fit in with them. He wears a long-sleeved collared shirt that has navy blue stripes along with washed blue denim pants and brown leather shoes. He wears a gold chain around his neck, covered by his shirt. And in his death, he has angel wings, though they don't always show.

Backstory

Aarav grew up in a traditional home, taught to put his values in religion and studies. There was a lot of pressure put on him to excel in his studies, especially since he was an only child. Social norms dictated that he either be a doctor or engineer, so he chose to be a doctor, seeing that would bring him more success. He excelled in his studies, which brought him to the United States to study medicine and get a job.

This was a very difficult time for him due to the culture shock of American culture, and the lack of people of his kind. He struggled to fit in with his white counterparts, but eventually, he became a resident of one of the top hospitals in the U.S. At first, he agreed with other doctors, and repressed his own judgment about things, causing people to suffer unintentionally and even die. But after he got into a high enough position where he was in charge, his talent for diagnosing people with good accuracy was recognized throughout the world. Then, he receives word of the Toko ship, a ship for the hope of humankind. At first, he’s apprehensive to go, as his family was urging him to come back to India, however, after finding out he was going to come back to an arranged marriage, he volunteered begrudgingly, only to find that he actually had to go.

However, once in the killing game, he had a change of heart. He was the unofficial medic of the group, treating the people who were hurt because of the otherworldy planet threats. This, along with the kind, wonderful people he met along the way, like Lucas and Arjuna, caused him to view his profession from one he had to do, to something he genuinely loved to do. Unfortunately, it didn't last long. One of the people in the killing game decided to murder him in a motive that threatened to kill all the participants of the game. He died, the first time being stuck in the simulation, then for the last time, being released from the game.

Once in the afterlife, Aarav continues to heal people, but this time he doesn't heal wounds or diseases. No, he heals hearts, souls that still need their peace. He promises to himself that he'll apologize to everyone he has ever wronged, quelling their core even just a little bit. He finds his dear friend in death, as they realize their mutual desire to become lovers. but as he goes on his afterlife, he finds purpose, even in death, watching over those he cared about, weaving dreams for the good, and help bring rest to those who need it. He's living his best life, in death.

Relations

Hyeon-Jae Aarav's best friend, and lover in death. First met when Aarav was just starting out in America and decided to help him adjust to the western culture. Hyeon-Jae realized his love for Aarav was about to confess his true feelings to him, but his anemia got the better of him and killed him. Aarav blames himself still.

Arjuna His dost...forever. They met during the killing game and became good friends really quickly. However, Aarav dies for the better of the others. With his last talk with 42, he gives them their new name, Arjuna, and watches over them. In the end, he encourages them to end the game and then passes on.

Lucas A better father figure to Aarav than his biological father ever was. Aarav started to treat Lucas for his cell anemia in the killing game they were in, and due to this, they became really close. However, a friend of Aarav took advantage of both the tired doctor and Lucas' weakened state and killed Lucas.
