Who wouldn’t know who ‘Koko Dere’ is? She’s one of the most-known cooks in the entire Sensaigo! While outside of it, she’s not known outside of Hope’s Peak. Slowly but surely she is making a name for herself! But for those that would research her, they would realize how much she had done in her mere 20 years of life!

While her past isn’t known outside of her fairing from the Kingdom of Shin’aina and having a twin brother that’s residing in the Kingdom of Takanasia as the Ultimate Royal Translator and Interpreter, she made quite the name for herself in recent years! Not only had she been one of the main people to assist with cooking for people that were struck by the poverty of war, but after two years of studying, she managed to open her own restaurant in the Kingdom of Kaigan, called “Dere’s Recipes for Turnabout” and despite the internal problems that the aforementioned Kingdom is facing, it’s been quite the hit!

Always laughing, happy, loud and friendly, while also having a strong sense of justice just like Yi, who can not like her?

Appearance

Koko is a tall young adult of 6’0” who’s appearance immediately yells “She’s a tomboy!”. With short, silver-like cu hair decorated with a soft ribbon of light turquoise with a sapphire snowflake keeping it together, she also wears a white chef’s hat with blue accents near the bottom of it. Her skin is pink-ish and very delicate with the eyes of silver as it accompanies her ever-lasting smile.

Her body is known to be well-muscled as she did confirm that she was working out to whoever would ask her and yet her chest is completely flat, making it seem like she didn’t hit her puberty at all - however if you will try to joke about it, she won’t hesitate to kick you off of your feet, or at least give you a good punch.

Lastly, her outfit consists of a simple, long-sleeved, bleak-yellow shirt underneath an apron that’s tied around her waist with a blue ribbon. To that, she wears a pair of grey jeans and leather boots on a small heel.

Personality

Thanks to her extroverted personality, Koko has no problems with finding new friends wherever she is - be it a restaurant, park or just a school cafeteria. She has a natural aura that attracts people to her, even with her snarky remarks that she would throw around at everyone from time to time, but even then few speculate that thanks to those sudden remarks she’s so likable, because it shows that she won’t allow anyone to step on her. So, if you would see her on the street or in a cafe, don’t be afraid to talk to her, as she always welcomes a conversation with opened arms!

Whoever would ask her for help - even an enemy - they have a 90% guarantee of receiving her help. Even with her snarky attitude and the amount of jokes and insults she likes to throw around, she is always happy to help a fellow human in need - even if it’s something out of her expertise. This is due to the influence of people she was surrounded with, who were always happy to help everyone around in the time of need. Furthermore, she doesn’t want anyone to feel alone in the time of need as she experienced that feeling herself and she wouldn’t wish it on anyone - even her greatest enemy;

If one would befriend her, they would gain a loyal ally that wouldn’t hesitate to jump into fire behind them. they would also be able to gain her help without any problems, even when it is something she would never agree to if the person asking wouldn’t be close to her in the first place - which makes her rather exploitable in such occurrences;

While this might seem weird, seeing as Koko is considered relatively nice and friendly, however that still doesn’t mean she can’t stand up for herself and will allow people to backchat her. Due to that, she’s rather known around Hope’s Peak as one to take stand when someone is being bullied, often using her ‘silver tongue’ to get rid of the bully - alternatively, she replies to her friends in a snarky way in order to make the conversation not-so-awkward;

Koko is rather upbeat and always happy, meaning that she will be the last person to lose hope when in dire situations. Furthermore, with her extroverted personality, she’s always up and around, never staying in one place and never letting her cheerfulness be not present on her face. While she means good, sometimes her energy may seem like she can’t calm down and isn't a good person to ask for advice, however she doesn’t mind that due to simply wanting to be herself, and not caring about what people think about her.

Creation Origins

Koko is one of the oldest OCs, due to her being created back when I started of RPing in the Ace Attorney fandom. She was a Prosecutor from Kingdom of Khura'in, alongside her twin brother Izaya. However, her initial design was so much different, having blond hair with a red strand, fur coat, white jumper and a skirt instead of a simple apron, yellow shirt and boots with thick heel that she has now. She was also much more 'Kuudere' than she is currently, with a plotline being that she was supposed to kill her own twin due to a difference in beliefs regarding how law should be handled.

For DR, she has been rewritten into a strong and tomboy character, not afraid to speak up about injustice. However, instead of coming from Khura'in, she is now from Kingdom of Shin'aina in Sensaigo, a custom world that me and my friend created for our project. Her backstory had also been changed severily, alongside her brother's, meaning that instead of having a vendetta against someone who caused her parents' death, she now has a desire to help those in need, even if they believe that she shouldn't involve herself with it.

Roleplay Experiences

Imperial Carnage

First roleplay that Koko got accepted into, this one was a unique one. Being hosted in 19th century, Koko was invited to a party in order to gain connections to help Sensaigo establish itself now that it was possible to travel to and from it. However, she and the others were trapped in a Killing Game by three hosts. However, what people didn't know that it wasn't real Koko that attended, but instead her twin brother Izaya. Due to Koko being dead, he had taken her place in order to keep her memory and dreams alive, meaning that by accident, he was the one that got kidnapped despite not having an Ultimate title himself.

In the game he befriend a small group of people that remained alive, one of them ending up escaping the killing game due to a successful trial. Throughout it, he grew to be more confident in his own identity over the need of pretending to be his dead sister. In Chapter 6, Izaya and his friend, Aiden, decided to fake their deaths to try and distract the hosts and find more evidence regarding who is the mastermind of the game. While Aiden managed to find some clues to assist with Asher and Cheris, Izaya was captured and about to be executed if not for the intervension of the aforementioned people. After that, the mastermind trial started, and the mastermind was found, releaseing all of the survivors.

Checkmate

A killing game stuck in a VR world(unknowingly to the cast). This time, it was the actual Koko who came into the game, being loud and abrasive the moment she awoke - picking fights with people who insulted her heritage and told her to stay in line. She didn't end up having many friends at the beginning due to a forced association with one of the characters that was an ass - the very same person who insulted her home. The two(and others) started working together to try and get out, only to grow a bit closer.

However, it all started to go wrong Chapter 2 onwards, when more and more of people that she liked started dying. Around early chapter 4, alongside her dwindling group who was working on an escape plan, she was asked to join forces with a quiet Physician, and since then the two had been sharing information and ideas as to how to escape. It all would have cultivated at the end, when the remaining people left would have been those she hasn't talked to much - however, due to issues, the roleplay was cancelled before that could have happened so yaya! Koko had oficially been spared and still had a few people she befriended to talk to.

Regarding character development, it wasn't anything as serious as her 'prior' apperance. Instead of becomign stronger, she became weaker in a way - where she started to accept the fact that it's alright to feel bad and want to cry, and that it didn't make her any lesser. She became more in touch with her emotions and learnt to be vulnerable in public.

Relationships

Nao Minami

Katar's Right Hand and the person who had found her and her brother in the forest one night. She doesn't like his calm and pacifistic demeanour - then again, she doesn't like it on anyone - but due to how much he helped her and her brother, she couldn't help but grow attached to him. He was already old upon finding them, so she expected him to pass away in a few years, and attended his funeral when it was announced with no problems. She really loved him like her own grandfather.

Asahi Ishizaki

One of the Knights of the Kaiganise Palace. They met when he once came to her restaurant and caused trouble, forcing her to show him who's the boss. Since then, the two became friends as Koko would often serve him food while he would share his stories from patrols and current issues. A bit of an airhead, but he means well and Koko finds his determination endearing. The two have developed a weird type of crush, where both know it but are oblivious to if the other feels the same way, therefore no one making a move just yet.

Mao Jin

A trainee under who's friends with Asahi. Another himbo, overhyper and always trying a bit too hard, she often ends up kicking a bowl off of the table by accident. However, in battle she is unstoppable due to her nimble movments and strong strikes coming from her past as a travelling dancer. She and Koko had often sparred in free moments.

Trivia

• Koko is one of my oldest OCs that went through several re-designs and re-writes;
• Originally, she was a prosecutor with her twin brother, but was supposed to murder him in last case;
• She was originally a cold person(Kudere -> Kokdere -> Koko Dere) but that part of her was also re-written.
