Akinli is extremely talented at what she does as an entertainer for the Ikanan Royal Court. It's not what she wants to do with her life, however, and is merely what she has to do to get by as well as learn about the inner workings of the Royal Family.

She resents the Ikanan Royal Family and suspects them of doing dispicable things in secrecy, although the details of this she does not yet know. She works with a small fringe group to help take them down, even going as far as to pass along intelligence to the rival tribe of the Garo. She believes she's doing the right thing and doesn't allow herself to doubt in what she's doing.
