Akin to that of a very mild form of psychological manipulation, somewhat like mind control or hypnotism but not entirely.
He can put people into an altered state of being in which his voice and persuasiveness are more effective and they will do as he says. Typically by planting suggestions into someone's mind, manipulating their feelings about something or someone, decieving them, or strenghtening their desire to commit to an action.
He tries to manipulate a person's emotions, feelings, desires, and thus their outward actions, but cannot directly control them. More of indirectly manipulating them to do what he wants them to do by persuading them to think they want to do it. One could think of it as being strongly persuasive, beyond normal means.
This power is limited only to what the victim would willingly do when under strong emotional stress or in extreme situations, or based on their morals or desires.
He may be able to persuade someone to harm another person (by convincing them they must defend themself, or to protect someone.) but if his victim would never kill a person, he cannot convince them go to such an extreme. He cannot make someone do something they would morally refuse to do.
But say, if a child saw a toy they REALLY wanted in a store, he could persuade them to try and steal it if the child felt they wanted the toy that badly. The child's desire taking priority over any thoughts that might otherwise dissuade him from theft.
He might even convince someone to tell him their secrets by making them feel like he was trustworthy and trying to be there for them, or that they were in a position where they would be punished severely for witholding information. Instilling fear, prompting the possibility of reward, strenghtening their desire to tell, or pretending to be trustworthy. This is partly why he tries to be friendly, upping his chances at being even more influential. You catch more flies with honey.
His powers can be resisted by those who are able to keep their composure, are not very easily controlled by their emotions or suggestion, or simply by covering their ears. But works well in those who are naive, with weak minds, are confused, struggling with internal conflict, or morally corrupt individuals, like many criminals as they are more willing to go to extremes to get what they want. - Personality: He comes off as rather friendly, often polite or even kind. He does not want to make enemies. Besides, people are easier to control when you're close and able to directly influence their thoughts, opinions and trust. He behaves very well when the school's staff are around, seems to follow rules, and may even be somewhat of a teacher's pet.
You're able to get away with a lot more when you've got the teachers wrapped around your finger. No one suspects you of a single wrong-doing when they think you're such a good boy.
