Orc | He/They | 38

Biography:

Appearance:

Alonso stands at 6'6", with light red eyes and pale hair and skin as a result of his albinism. While his in-tact tusks, pointed ears, and tall, muscular build clearly identify him as an orc, his "blonde" hair and lack of blue or green skin has been known to draw attention. Otherwise, his clean-shaven face and shaven head make him rather unremarkable; especially when combined with an infamous skill of his.

Alonso is a skilled luxomancer, and is rumored to have begun the practice young in order to combat ill effects of the sun. However, he now uses his manipulation of light in order to conceal and alter his appearance, changing others' perception of colors. He typically conjures these illusions on himself, only changing his eye and skin color (with his hair being too short to require manipulating individually), but he's also been known to create larger and more vivid illusions.

Description:

Indifferent, and yet always carrying an air of judgement and scheming about him, Alonso's transparency can only make him all the more difficult to read. Still, he's no stranger to changing his demeanor as quickly as he changes his appearance, and frank, unplanned meetings with him can be hard to catch.

He serves as the unapologetic leader of the Dawn Drought company, a group of mercenaries and bounty hunters with a long history of involvement with major gangs, infamous outlaws, and even once-noteworthy towns it's managed to outlive either by chance or through intentional conflict. Its name changes with the crowning of each new leader (though those dedicated enough will always know where to find it). Alonso is fairly new to his role, being leader for under a decade, but was a respected, methodical, and efficient soldier under the old leadership that few have challenged the promotion of. His acute judgment of his soldiers, where to place his alliances, and what job or bounty to pursue has kept the company thriving and dangerous, but the sustained lack of solid allegiances from the orc and, by extension, the Dawn Drought company has kept employers and rewarders skeptical. Overall, he and his company have garnered a fair share of malice from outlaws, law enforcement, and neutral parties alike, but there's no doubt about who they'll all turn to when they're in over their heads.

If Alonso has any permanent homes, no one's certain of where they might be. Nestled alongside barracks in woodlands and mountains seems to be a favorite guess, but plenty of the company's soldiers live independently, and the ever-elusive orc may choose to live the exact same way.

Equipment:

With arsenals and fell opponents' pockets at his disposal, Alonso has been known to use a variety of weapons. While not often being the one to get into gunfights or even fistfights himself now, he's still skilled in using a variety of firearms and melee weapons, and will choose whatever methods he thinks are best suited for the scenario beforehand (though the commandeering of weapons from allies or enemies in the spur of the moment isn't unheard of).

Alonso excels in his luxomancy, having been known to create illusions so large that they can cast night into day, day into night, and triple his armies. Incorporeal as they may be, often the intimidation or confusion factor is either enough to turn the tides of a conflict, or allow for a seamless escape.

Alonso's choice of mount varies as largely as his choice in weaponry, as it aids both in avoiding capture (as his self-applied luxomancy does) and navigating different terrains. As he seems to have a preference for horses, he usually only utilizes dragons for when flight is needed. Having no qualms about such theft, and with his line of work usually providing him with riderless creatures, he regularly commandeers mounts as well. His unshaken and strong presence can make many, even more stubborn dragons obey him (though loyal ones are a different story), but often intimidates and spooks pegasi.
