Darrah Carlin

Darrah is an entry for the Bring Your Own Senshi contest for the Sailor-U group on DeviantArt! More coming up as I go.

Personality:

Darrah is a simple, understated sort of girl who tends towards the deadpan in her responses to the weird stuff going on around her. When a talking dog magically transformed her into a senshi, she neither jumped at the call nor refused it; she merely asked for a little processing time before she got thrown right into trouble. She's very good at adapting and rolling with the punches, and due to awakening as a senshi, life has started throwing a whole lot more punches at her. When Aurelia starts doing her antics and threatening to go to the bathroom on things, she simply sighs and waits for the miniature schnauzer to finish ranting; she has a surprising amount of patience, though she does get exasperated from time to time. Her level-headedness may make her appear lukewarm and dispassionate to others, but she does have moments where she gets really into whatever it is she's doing, be it art or senshi life.

Backstory:

Darrah was an Average High School Senior living in the midwestern US. She lived with her mother and her father (no siblings) in a nice suburban area. Ever since she was young, she had a fascination with the arts and was always drawing; needless to say, the arts were a solid fixture in her life. She was a B student in school; sure, she was smart, but sometimes she just didn't care enough to put in the extra effort for that A, or she favored her own projects too much to bother with schoolwork. Things were fairly ho-hum until an invitation from Daisy Academy came in the mail. The opportunity to attend such a prestigious arts academy excited Darrah, and so she transferred there and struggled a little with settling into busy Los Angeles. Eventually, she did get used to the routine of life on the campus, but just when she did, a new wrench was thrown into her life: a talking dog approached her on the street and wanted to show her "something neat and special" just for her. That day, Darrah Carlin was awoken as a senshi, and she accepted the twist with grace (and a request for a little time to sort herself out).

Guardian: Aurelia

Celestial Object: Aurelia (Venusian Crater)

Species: Miniature Schnauzer

Personality: Aurelia is loud. She's loud, she's bossy, she can be downright vulgar with all the dog poop jokes. She enjoys barking and talks at a jabberjaw pace. She can be quite abrasive with all her firing off at the mouth, and a less patient senshi would probably not get along with her very well (especially when she starts talking about peeing on things). Despite all the bluster, she genuinely cares for her senshi and takes guiding her very seriously. Sometimes, she'll just hop onto Darrah's bed, plop down, and start a heart-to-heart conversation. She hopes to find the other members of the senshi team and lead them to victory.
