I'm no mere Oni as you may have remembered me as for; I shall be before you as Akabeko, the ox of luck and not as the demon who destroyed your castle with its stubborn will and rage, but as a blessing. For my rage has turned to hope and death to life.
This is my prophesy."

Akabeko is an oni, or in a more western term; a demon, who haunts the castle of the Aizu residence.
As an oni he is seen as a bad, destructive and distasteful. A monster who's only intention is to destroy and kill humans, however, Akabeko is another case. As an oni he survives off of human meat and alcohol, though as a monster who was cursed by Buddha after the Aizu war. Buddha granted Akabeko the power to protect the humans rather than killing them. As this has been his curse he has gone to a more peaceful life style and has started to get a liking to humans, after having adapted to this curse; has started portraying this as a dream. Though they might not like him back for his origin as a monster.
In his early years, Akabeko would thrive off of eating and killing humans, stealing their alcohol and abuse their resources. He was strong, raged and terrifying; a common red oni who's only intention is to destroy and concur. However, when Akabeko was at his strongest, destroying the castle of Aizu, leaving no lives behind; the civilians prayers were granted and the red oni was cleansed of all evil. This curse was put on him; A curse who made the red oni of rage into a monster who can't take a life. An oni who has now adapted a more human like form. His teeth has shrunk and so has his height. His will of fire and rage has now become an insufferable act he could never commit. In this form, can he even count himself as an oni?
