Vincent thought Evie was adorable from the start, but with a few years in between that time he was just happy to have a friend when he saw someone he recognized. He never connected with anyone so well, and is very grateful to have someone who cares about him enough to drag him out to do things, or to let him stay home and comfy when he needs it. Evie is so fun to talk to and easy to get along with, and he really admires her and appreciates her presence. Of course, he definitely thinks she’s stunningly beautiful and adorable and he has a huge crush on her, but he would never tell her that—he just wants to keep his best friend. He can be a bit overprotective of her sometimes though… even though she can probably handle herself better than he could.
Evie’s outgoing and affectionate attitude is not something he is used to or understands very well though, and she doesn’t seem to realize how flustered and confused that makes him when she does such thoughtful and selfless things for him.
Vincent was an answer to a prayer for Evie! He was her first friend after she left her hometown behind. She has since made other friends of course, and keeps in touch with many others from home and from her travels, but Vincent is her closest friend, perhaps even as close as she is with her brother! She loves his quiet kindness and his thoughtfulness (aka how he worries about everything). She really appreciates having a friend who can be really in touch with his emotions and therefore more empathetic… that’s not the kind of quality she’s seen in many guys. He’s a great listener who seems to value every word she says, and for someone who is usually the listener, it’s wonderful to have someone to listen to her passions and plans. She does worry about his emotional and mental state sometimes, and does her best to be aware and careful of that. She wants him to be happier… She tends to shower him with affection and care because she feels like his self-deprecation and lack of self-confidence means he needs to know how loved and important and awesome he is! He doesn’t seem to believe her though :/ and if he doesn’t believe her about that, she probably shouldn’t tell him how she thinks she cares about him as much more than a friend. That might blow his poor awkward mind. Or worse, it would scare him away…
