master of darling

appears to be very reckless and inconsiderate but is actually contemplative and crafty and occasionally soft. his actions often make little sense as he's doing them but come together in the end, despite regularly upsetting those involved/around him. because he is a relatively young vampire he hasn't yet become entirely jaded by humans and often still forms somewhat normal relationships with them, which he usually finds sort of unfortunate. he envies the detachment some vampires manage and sometimes tries to contain his emotions or maintain distance from people because of this, but often fails.

he took on a familiar/servant out of necessity because being in sunlight is dangerous (though not deadly), which is Darling. he is reluctant to turn Darling, even though they have a verbal contract, because he finds him kind of depressing/disturbing and would rather he just goes to a lot of therapy and learns to accept his mortality. he doesn't voice this to Darling for fear of exposing himself as a softy. they live together in a small, rustic home that Darling inherited (built by his father). he does a lot of "white collar" crime, utilizing his bat form to glean information which he uses in various ways (extortion or simple robbery). because he has numerous expenses and is sort of lazy, they often go through stretches of time where money is tight and then they will suddenly have large amounts of money, which they quickly deplete.
