Cuan grew up in the wide ocean. Unsure of where he belonged, he kept swimming in hopes of finding a home. Since Cú has fur, he doesn't like staying in the water for too long. After awhile, he found a small island with a crescent opening. On the island was filled with baby taums. Some taums looked aquatic in nature, others not. Cú likes to help the caretaker of the island while looking after the children. The children usually stay on the island until they are big enough to find homes of their own.
Cuan has an adoration for dolphins and tropical flowers. Cú is very playful and kind natured. Because of his white fur, he can withstand the cold temperatures of the water during winter.
