"Everything on Earth is Borrowed... There is no "Mine" or "Yours"... there is Only "Ours"... Even Time is Borrowed. We Kill over a Plot of Land, that belongs only to our Mother Earth. All you have is what you came with... and what you will leave with... Your Spirit."

Random trivia time yay! Apalachee spoke a Muskogean language called Apalachee, which is now extinct. She has a green thumb and grows varieties of corn, pumpkins, and strawberries. She can make tools, pottery, and cloth. She smokes tobacco in ceremonial rituals, including ones for healing. She loves participating in the "Apalachee Ball Game".

Hmmm... She might at this point actually be dead. She may be a ghost. That only Agustín can see/interact with. Or she may be alive, but nobody notices. *shrug*

Character

Apalachee is a shy, mysterious she-cat who hides in the shadows, not wanting to give herself away. At least, that's the impression she gives to others. In reality, she is quite a fierce warrior, just waiting for the opportunity to strike and scalp her foes. She is also athletic, taking part in the Apalachee Ball Game on numerous occasions.

History

Apalachee was a Native American tribe who historically lived in the Florida Panhandle. She occupied the site of Velda Mound starting at about 1450 CE, but had mostly abandoned it when Spain started settling in the 17th century. She first encountered Spain in the 16th century when he discovered her daughter, Catalina. Apalachee soon became ill from a European disease and disappeared into Louisiana, where she remains hidden to this day.

Of her daughter's children, Agustín is the only one who regularly is in contact with her, especially in his youth.
