Hadrian was born to a human mother and a human man he believed to be his father. But growing up, he knew he was different. At first, it was just his odd-colored eyes. He suffered no small amount of bullying, which prompted him to grow his hair long to only show his brown eye. But soon, other oddities surfaced. Hadrian discovered he could sense when change was occurring, and thus manipulate it to an extent. As he matured from boy to young man, his strange power strengthened.
Finally, his mother could shield him no longer. She revealed the truth to him, telling him his true father is the Roman god of change, Janus. She gave him his coin, saying it could help him bring and manipulate change. She also gave him his garnet pendant, saying it could protect him as it had been crafted by the god out of his sacred gemstone. Hadrian was upset that he had not known sooner, but he set out to make the best of his heritage.
At first, he worked as a jack-of-all-trades, sometimes even dipping into the con business to make ends meet. On one such shady stint, he was arrested. The officer saw something in the crook, and thus encouraged Hadrian to join the patrol's detective force. While he declined the proposition, Hadrian did follow the officer's advice to an extent. He wound up joining a group of other half-humans that made a point of protecting the human race from malevolent supernaturals.
~Personality:
Hadrian is manipulative and charismatic, playing things cool and close to his chest. He likes scaring and confusing people. He's usually smart, but he can get cocky and tends to have a short fuse. And just because he can sense coming change doesn't mean he predict what it will be.
~Preferences:
Hadrian is straight, but not really looking for anyone. He wouldn't mind a friend, though, or a partner in the craft. He really likes going on wild adventures in search of the adrenaline high.
