About

Annie Droyd is a loud, bold cyborg girl that’s trying her best to make a life for herself in Technetowne after accidentally going through a portal. She won't let anyone get in her way, especially when she believes in something. She's incredibly stubborn and will get her way through pure willpower. Annie follows her heart and her dreams, sticking to her ideals and doing what is right whenever she can. She tries to make as many friends in Technetowne and the rest of Dystopia, though her desire for friends leads to her being a bit naive in regards to peoples’ desires and motives.

In regards to Utopia, she has no connection to her old home and she wants nothing to do with it. She'd rather be in Dystopia for the rest of her life with her friends and new family, and build something up of her own.

Summary

Utopian Years

Annabelle Desmont was born in Golgotha, Utopia as a lower class citizen. She grew up with her father, her mother dying when she was very young. While Annabelle did have a father, he was not a reliable guardian. Annabelle was never the best student, and tended to be lonely, even though she desperately wanted friends. When Annabelle was eight years old, her father fell into serious financial troubles. Due to said financial troubles, Mr. Desmont traded off Annabelle into the Cyborg Initiative to be freed from his debt. This betrayal from her father has deeply hurt and angered Annabelle. She wants nothing to do with her father for the rest of her life.

In the Cyborg Initiative, she had surgery performed on her against her will, replacing her left eye with a robotic eye, fitting a device on the side of her head to mess with her mind and improve her hearing, and replacing her normal legs with robotic ones. Growing up during her late childhood and teen years in a lab was hard, with her trying to lean on the scientists around her and the other cyborg children. She never really grew attached to anyone there, believing that she would be abandoned and betrayed, like her father did to her. When she turned 18, Annabelle finally left the testing phase of the Cyborg Initiative, where she went off to work for the Utopius family as a maid and companion for Heaven Utopius. While Annabelle was glad that her job was one of the better ones, it was frustrating to be forced to fit into a certain box, not being allowed to express herself or do what she wanted. She thought Heaven was a nice girl, but completely oblivious to reality and quite a bit spoiled. Annabelle only worked for the Utopius family for about a year.

Fresh Arrival

One day, while cleaning around the Utopius home, Annie accidentally opened a portal to a new dimension. She panicked and fell in, which ended up with her falling through trees, ripping up her clothes, and being stranded in a strange new world. Unknowingly, Annie ended up in the outskirts of Technetowne.

When she first arrived, she was first found by Thoreau Pileaux and convinced to find her way back home to Utopia. On her way throughout Technetowne, Annie ends up meeting new friends and reconsidering going back to Utopia. She ends up refusing to find a way back to her old home, finding joy with her new found family in Dystopia, even though that leads to Mr. Pileaux's mental stability dropping and him going into a blind rage over her refusal to cooperate.

Annie ends up finding a home in Technetowne, living with her friends and trying to make a life for herself where she can truly be who she really is with no restraint.

Dystopian Home

Annie Droyd, as she now is called, lives happily with her friend Ashi Flare in an apartment in Technetowne. She lives in the same complex as her other friends, Shocker Bolt and Zach Walker, and hangs out with them almost daily. She loves spending as much time as possible with her friends, and she's glad they'll always be there for her. Annie and Shocker talk about their robotics and help fix each other up at times, bringing them closer together. Over time, Annie has grown completely used to Technetowne, chosing to leave behind her Utopian past.

Currently, Annie works at the local Sunmart with Zach. She's a bit of a floater, working both as a cashier and as a stocker, using her social skills and her strength to her advantage. While she'd like to get a better paying job, she's not sure she's qualified to do much else. She hopes to be able to study and get a better education than she had in Golgotha, but for now, she just wants to pay for rent and be able to spend time with her closest friends.
