About

Beatrix is certainly an oddity from her first impression. The first thing one might notice is the patch over one eye, and, more peculiarly, the chain and lock that keeps the opposite eye permanently closed. Though clearly blind she seems to get around okay and one can likely assume a bit of magic lingers at her fingertips. Upon approaching her, Bea's smile is warm and her demeanor lively if undercut by a sharp wit and confidence. Some rumours float through word of mouth about Beatrix, that her remaining eye holds an otherworldly gleam, a faint supernatrual aura that sounds her like a veil. Marking her as someone touched by supernatural forces.

That her lost eye is the fault of the zombies that plague her village and that Beatrix is on a quest for power in order to save her home and that she made a deal with dark forces to do so. Some call her the blind witch, they say that her nature is kind should you approach her humbly and that she'll help you if she can. Some point out the cat that seems to linger around Beatrix, aruging as to whether it is real or if it's a simple apparition of her power manifest but all agree it carries an unnerving gleam in it's eyes.

Notes

  • Most often seen in her first form with her eyes locked and patch in place.
  • Her dess sence has a slavic or romanian cultural influence. She enjoys wearing bright colours.
  • Her ethnicity has both slavic and asian influence (if you were to equate it to irl features)
  • Bea's clothes would not be considered noble or overly expensive but she does take pride in her appearance.
  • Feel free to simplify her outfit or put her in something completley different, changing clothes is okay (though if you change her outfit completley I'd super appreciate running it by me first!)

Background

Having asked about her background, Beatrix seems to have no reservations about revealing to you where she is from, "I come from a little town called Urling in north Rashemen. It's not anything fancy mind you, but it's home to me. I mean, we were never wealthy nobles or anything, but we could make do with what we had. I always wanted to be part of the Witchlaran, they're a coven of powerful witches who make most important decisions in my homeland. I mainly wanted to be one of them though, so that I could help my town." She tells you, giving a small shrug, a slight twitch of her mouth indicating it did not go on to be a happy tale. She spoke as if it were normal, as for her it certainly was, "When I was a baby, you see, these zombies, undead began roaming past the town. From what I was told, it started out just a couple, but over time came more and more. We delt with it as best we could of course, boarded up the town, made sure people could work safely. But we could never really stop them, we didn't even really know where they came from."

Beatrix sighs, brows furrowing slightly as she thought on it a moment, "As I grew older though, I began to wonder if we could stop them. That seems like the only choice to me, if we can't stop them they're only going to gather in higher numbers. That's when I decided to set out in search of some way to stop them entirely. I need enough power to do so you see? So I came looking for more sources of it, people who could train me perhaps or knowedge of how to defeat undead. Anything I could take back there to make a stand with." She gives a bit of a shrug though there's a shadow of worry in her face, "I just hope I can get strong enough in time."

Trivia

  • Give her a comfy spot by the fire and she just can't help but curl up and take a nap.
  • Very much enjoys trying to mimic birdsong with her ocarina.
  • Seems to be able to find her way about despite being blind, at least well enough anyway.
  • Will probably find some weird places to sit given half the chance.

Soren Party Member
Currently, Beatrix thinks Soren needs to spend a bit more time keeping himself alive before he can begin to act as the party medic and keep the rest of them alive. While he seems a little scattered at times and vastly more awkward than Bea is used to, she can acknowledge he's a formidible fighter in battle. She's currently re-evaluating her opinion of him, however, in light of recent events concerning the deaths of innocent people, it was brought to Beatrix's attention that he seems far too comfortable killing innocent people for someone who claims to be both a Doctor and a Monk. Thus far though he's kept his mouth shut and therefore hasn't worstened her opinon of him.

Mar_icon.png

Marlowe Party Member
While Beatrix doesn't know much about Marlowe yet, she had taken a liking to her as she finds similarities in their upbringing. Marlowe has also shown she's willing to back Beatrix up in her antics even if those get the pair of them into trouble. Currently, however, Beatrix is re-evaluating her opinion of Marlowe after she'd taken part in the slaughter of innocent people with no more excuse than "They were taking too long". While it'll take some intention on Marlowe's part to earn back Bea's good opinion, she's thus far managed not to make it worse.

Kahn Not-Favourable
In the beginning Kahn had Beatrix forming a good opinion of him, however recent events have all but erased it. She was angry at his slaughter of innocents and all his attempts to weasel out of it afterwards has only served to increase her dislike. Add a good deal of muttered insults and what she suspects is quite a bit of underlying racism both towards herself and Viri, she's on edge and on guard around him. She refuses to grant him the respect of calling him Barbarian any longer.

Viridan Favourable
While Beatrix has spent barely any time with Viridan yet, he ended up being the only Tiefling whom they were able to free from Levistus' control and survived. As such, she currently is determined to keep him safe if nothing else so perhaps in some small way, she didn't make Everything worse. She knows he's favoured by the spirits which holds quite a bit of weight with her, and has thus far shown a genuine understanding of death's impact which has given her a favourable first impression of him once he was out of Levistus' contol.
