  • She can see through her hair quite well, even if it’s covering half her face. There’s a small scar under her left eye, which is why it’s covered in the first place.
• A girl with a somewhat contradictory personality. Sometimes she’s very expressive, wearing her heart on her sleeve; sometimes she’s very apathetic and expressionless.
  • Angry expression features a smile. True anger features absolutely no expression to speak of.

Personality

Kind to friends, ruthless to enemies, and utterly devoted to her loved ones, Elodie treasures the virtues of positivity, intelligence, grace, and a balance in all things. Though often too shy and hesitant to display her full capacities—preferring to play as a second-fiddle supporter—she is the type of girl possessive of a prodigious and vast intellect, and an intuitive wit that carries her through her day-to-day activities.

Furthermore, curiosity and companionship are the two main driving factors for Elodie; she always wants to learn new things, experience new things, and share that experience and knowledge with her friends and loved ones. She takes special interests in basic philosophy, art, writing, music, and history. Elodie is doggedly loyal to those she holds dear, to the point that she finds it utterly impossible to abandon anyone she considers as a good friend. On the flip side, the concept of being useless or being abandoned by the people she holds dear is utterly terrifying.

Though, in spite of her love for balance, order, and security, there are few consistencies and many contradictions to the way Elodie acts on a daily basis. She is equally spontaneous and lethargic, a truly complicated girl at any level of her personality, proving hard to nail down and difficult to get a read on.

Upon first meeting her, and depending on events in her life at the time, one may find her to be charming, pleasant, and all around a warm girl to be around; or one may find a more serious, hard-hearted woman that is difficult to engage in any sort of meaningful discussion with.

Any extended amount of time spent getting to know Elodie may lead one to scratch their heads in confusion. One day she’s a dedicated worker who simply can’t stop doing her job. The next day she’s a lazy slouch. She may be a bundle of hyperactive activity the night before, and wake up focused, taciturn, and terse the next day. While overall pleasant to most people that interact with her, the personality that Elodie projects to the world can be found to be chock full of contradictions, facades, and difficult-to-understand leaps of logic.

The truth of the matter is, Elodie is the type of person that acts based on momentum and finds her emotions heavily influenced by the things happening to her and others around her. Once she gets started on something, she rarely finds it in herself to stop until it is finished—that is, if she can find the energy to get started. If her friends are depressed or angry, she too will feel similarly to them. As a person with many contacts in many places, and dedicated to being useful to others, it may come as no surprise when armed with this knowledge that Elodie’s personality seems to change ever so frequently.

Traveling around the lands of Aether and offering her services as a writer, poet, and spell designer, Elodie Lilliana Fiorella is a youthful-looking, questionably human girl supposedly hailing from the lost kingdom of Aliprand. Age unknown, documented history unknown.

Elodie refers to herself as a traveling writer, and often speaks about herself—inasmuch as she has the capacity to convey words—in a vague manner, offering the listener little more than a brief peek into a curious veil of compounding mysteries.

If asked about her background, she'll offer a variety of answers: some days she's a cursed princess, others a former idol, and sometimes just a normal girl that you can find anywhere. With no records of her past to be found, the truth is anyone's guess. Perhaps it's all of the above, perhaps it's all a lie. Really, who knows?

So, what do we actually know about Elodie Fiorella?

Aliprand no longer exists on Aether and the Last Kingdom's overnight disappearance is just as shrouded in mystery as her. Could she really be one of the missing members of the royal bloodline, or is it just another one of those stories she’s fond of telling?

Is there anything known for sure? For reasons Elodie refuses to disclose, she is entirely devoid of the ability to utter sounds, much less speak.

Doubtlessly, one may wonder how she uses magic without the ability to verbally incant spells or go about her daily life. The answer rests within nuanced hand gestures, a grimoire with an endless number of pages that she writes in with a preternatural speed, and if she isn't feeling too lazy to do so: the ability to bend light to write in the air.

Beyond having a grimoire of unlimited capacity and her relatively minor displays of illusory magic, Elodie is a woman of many talents: introducing herself as a traveling writer, a spell designer, a martial artist, a magic caster, and—among other things—an advice giver to keep others company when they need it.

On the topic of magic, Elodie appears to be an incredibly talented Elementalist, a magus with the ability to manipulate all of the classical elements of earth, wind, fire, and water, along with the vagary sub-elements associated with them. She uses this to great effect, being a literal designer for new spells along with having the ability to manipulate or reinvent the effects and efficacy of existing spells.
