Introduction · · ·
Canon: Shinju, as the Ultimate Surgeon, is considered a once-in-a-lifetime medical prodigy by her professors and peers, a deceptively cheerful academic that blew through her studies with such ease that there were times they had to insist she stay in a certain grade for her own social benefit. Although many worried such skill would lead to the world's largest god complex, Shinju has only ever worked with one steadfast goal in mind- strive to be the best, so you can fight to save the most.

Personality · · ·
Being around Shinju is like being around a mini mobile sun- she hates the stereotype of cold, terrifying doctors- so she's done quite literally everything in her power to be cheerful, approachable, and everything that a professional surgeon is typically not supposed to be. She's known for giving gifts just because the mood strikes her, and when she was an intern she was popular for memorizing her superior's coffee orders and always waking up early to make runs to Starbucks on Friday mornings. She's a sweetheart to a fault, but when it comes down to the wire she's perfectly capable of bringing everything back to business. All of those years in med school weren't for nothing after all. She's fully confident in her abilities, and despite looking like a 4 foot 11 pushover, she'll never let anyone tell her any different.
Positive Trait
Shinju is extremely organized, almost obsessively so. I mean, after eight years of higher level education and working in a chaotic large scale hospital, you have to find some way to manage your tasks and time. She has at least fifteen planners that span back several years, and she’s probably the top buyer of sticky notes at the local Office Depot.
Negative Trait
Shinju is devastatingly overambitious, who could've seen that coming? She's succeeded since before she even knew what the word meant. She's always excelled in school, she's constantly lavished with praise, and still it doesn’t seem to be enough for her. She wants to keep on succeeding, keep on advancing the medical world, until the very day she dies.
Neutral Trait
Shinju can be very easily flustered sometimes. Romance is the ‘sometimes’ of this situation. Kiss her? She’ll faint. Hug her? She’ll faint. Touch her anywhere that spans beyond the hand or the head? Faint. Romantic affection is very, very spooky. And as someone who spends more time in the hospital than in her own house, she hasn't exactly got a lot of experience under her belt.
Neutral Trait
Shinju is the airport mom that traumatized you as a child by making you think you were going to miss your flight if you weren’t three hours early. This lady will never miss a meeting or an appointment, but…at what cost? Her punctuality is something to be feared.

Backstory · · ·
Shinju was born an only child to two upstanding parents that did their best to love her in their own way. Her father was a strict and cold doctor, who struggled to show his emotions properly and focused primarily on his work above all else. Her mother, on the other hand, was an artistic woman who lived her life as though she were always in a dream. It was her father who did the majority of raising Shinju ,drilling into her head the necessity of success while prioritizing a lucrative and fulfilling career over all else. It's from him she gained her critical eye and studious nature, and likely her intelligence as well.
Pre-Ultimate Title
Shinju went through her school years as though she were running a race, working to excel as fast as she could so she could graduate and move onto the next level of education. She started attending university at the unbelievably young age of 14, and graduated with her Bachelor’s merely two years later at 16. After attending all four years of medical school in a dual M.D/Ph.D program, she was free to actively start a surgical residency at her father’s hospital. After a few years of either frustrating or astounding the seasoned doctors around her, she was free to finally start working as a licensed surgeon. Instead of transferring hospitals or returning to school, she instead chose to remain at her father’s hospital to work full time. The reason why she chose to do this was she needed a place to work in order to achieve what she saw as the most important award of them all, something that she knew would prove her competence once and for all, the Ultimate title.
Receiving the Ultimate Title
It was at the age of 22 when all of her hard work would finally reward her, mere weeks after receiving her license to work full time. She had been aware that several eyes were on her already- I mean how could they not be? No one within her University had attended as early as her, graduated as fast as her, and pursuing a doctorate at her age? She wasn't egotistical enough to think that the Ultimate title was as good as hers, but she knew it wasn't far off. It was one week in the cold of December when the hospital was struck with an odd, overwhelming number of patients that would require surgery. Not just any operation either- several of them would require surgery of the heart. Shinju, same as many other staff members, had just been about to walk out the door to celebrate the holidays with her family. There was a silent realization that if everyone left as planned, there wouldn't be nearly enough doctors on the clock to take care of everyone. It was Shinju who, without a moment's hesitation, put her mask back on and went straight to the operating room to get back to work with the skeleton crew that had been left behind. After a week straight of round-the-clock surgeries, having Christmas dinner in the hospital cafeteria with her parents, and sleeping for handfuls of hours at a time on her office futon, all surgeries were completed with no lasting injury and most importantly, no casualty. Once word had gotten out about Shinju's achievement, there was no one who could deny that she deserved the title. Ironically enough, the first thing she did after all of the ceremonies and celebrations was wonder if she could manage both working as a famed surgeon AND re-attending school to earn her doctorate.

If you had told Shinju about five years ago that she would fall for the common playboy pothead, she would have grimaced and told you to stop making such horrible jokes. Because everyone knew and expected her to get hitched with one of her rich, handsome, and intelligent coworkers. And yet, despite the predictions of everyone (including her), she somehow wandered into a barista's cafe one day and walked right out with his heart around her little finger. She has no idea how that happened either- all she did was order a coffee, exchange a few words...okay, maybe it was more than a few words, it might have been a conversation. A couple of conversations. And sure, she might have smiled a little more than usual! What of it?! Just how was she supposed to know that stupid, fluttery feeling in her chest wasn't seasonal allergies, but something far more sinister? The only things that Shinju ever bothered to learn about the human heart was its anatomy and how to get it beating again, but somehow this high school dropout managed to teach her more about it than she had ever known back in med school.
Sachiko is a woman that Shinju was very close to while studying her undergrad. They were thick as thieves, spent every minute of every hour of their spare time together, but Shinju never actually knew much about her personal life…or the strange things she studied outside of her major. It’s weird, now that she thinks about it, but she has no idea where Sachiko is nowadays, or how to contact her. Or why she can't seem to find her on any social media platforms or address books. It's a shame, she would really like to get back in touch with her- they used to do each other's pigtails late on Friday nights.
Look I know this says complete I KNOW it does. I'm a filthy liar I need to set up how he fits in this canon
