Gear Foxx was created as a lab experiment by Dr. Cain, an ancient ancestor of Dr. Eggman, by combining the mind and body of a human and a fox together. While Dr. Cain meant to use him as a weapon, Gear escaped, somehow ending up on Mobius. Trying to make sense of his new surroundings and wondering what to do with his new found freedom, Gear joined the Freedom Fighters. He has the ability to teleport himself and others, though he is uncertain of the maximum range/ if it affects him in any way.

Gear has a somewhat bleak outlook on life, possibly due to a fear of it all being snatched away at a moments notice. Despite this, he still strives to do his best and help others. He can be secretive at times and prefers to work by himself. He has been known for having a short temper that, combined with his lack of cooperativeness, often gets him into trouble. Gear has frequent bouts of insomnia due to nightmares, which often leave him mentally drained or afraid of falling asleep. He often uses sarcasm in light of a serious situation, or when nervous or uncomfortable.
