Story: Before Belial came into contact with THETA-||| he had been a broke college student by the name of Matthew living in California. Dissatisfied with his meager life and his unsupportive family, he left home and began train hopping across the country in an attempt to find some meaning to his life. His unique genetic mutations, horns and devilish red eyes, soon caught the eye of scavengers and drones skulking about the surface. It wasn't long before he was kidnapped and dragged down into the THETA-||| facilities where he came in contact with the Overseer. Her cruel curiosity turned towards his anomalous mutations, and he was subjected to a series of painful experiments and studies that left him him in a state of emotional shock. When she was satisfied with her curiosity, the Overseer discarded him to become little more than a test subject. Eventually, he was used in an experiment aimed at attempting to isolate and extract the soul. The procedure failed spectacularly when his soul rejected their methods and was partially destroyed. With it, he lost most of his memories and became withdrawn altogether. He was given the name "Belial" as a cruel joke, deemed too worthless to continue the soul experiment. Belial's life is to now serve as a crash test dummy, a job he's suited to thanks to his seemingly supernatural endurance and healing capabilities. He bears a strong hatred for The Overseer, but he lacks the will to try to rebel on his own. Deep down inside he holds out hope that someday he'll be free, though at the same time he believes this to be a pipe dream. To dull the physical and emotional pain, he indulges in painkillers and narcotics that are provided to him by the drone who keeps an eye on him.

Description: Belial's appearance is a mixed breed dog with floppy ears and a thick, bushy tail. His fur is an uncommon coloration of purple with black markings and a white mane. His most striking features are the goat like horns on his head and his devilish red eyes, both of which are the result of a genetic mutation. As part of the experiments preformed on him, he now has an artificial spine, from which four spikes extend out of his back. This seems to have the purpose of detecting different types of energy frequencies in the air and might have been meant for android use, making his an unstable prototype. The sensor embedded in his left ear seems to have something to do with his spine, likely meant to transmit gathered data to The Overseer's system. Finally, Belial as a deep throat scar that had come from the Soul Experiment, which had not only destroyed part of his soul but damaged his nerves as well.

Important Notes: He suffers from a severe addiction to painkillers and narcotics. The scar on his throat is from having a metal apparatus forcefully shoved into his body from that point. He suffers constant pain from it. He is prickly and cynical towards all others, especially fellow test subjects. He seeks pain and punishment as a way to cancel out the pain of his throat scar, as well as to temporarily feel alive as opposed to feeling half dead all the time. While he does hate Vexium very much, he often looks to her for guidance and a twisted form of comfort.
