Stoneleaf is the somewhat awkward-but big hearted Medicine cat of Magmaclan. Or, the remnants of Magmaclan. Hes always been fascinated by the organization and management of herbs, and is very number/sorting-oriented when it comes to keeping track of things. He is very smart, especially when his stores are involved, and really enjoys the process of collecting and sorting his plants. He is a skilled medicine cat, able to easily ration and coordinate his collection in the most effective possible manner. He's a quick thinker and while he can get focused on one or two things at a time, he is capable of great feats of work. He enjoys having a project/goal to focus on and is very goal-oriented in his mindset.

His quick thinking helps him to escape the leopard that decimates his clan and while he doesn't really have the emotional capacity to be a parent to the kits that he saves or a shoulder for Mournstar that he desperately needs, he continues to give his all for the clan's well being as much as he can and continues to try his best to keep hope and optimism even among the pessimism he himself feels about the future they may (or may not) have. He may not be able to be an emotional crutch for his distraught leader, but he can at least be a solid foundation to hold him up when he wants to give in, pushing forward through a future that starclan won't answer to. 

Growing up in Magmaclan, Stoneleaf was always more fascinated with the medicine cat's den than he was fighting or exploring. It was only natural when he became the medicine cat's apprentice, and only moreso when he took over. Meticulous, caring, and hardworking- the biggest downside to this position for him was the expectation of a close relationship with starclan that he...simply didn't have. He didn't necessarily not try- but he was more focused in the here and now than long-dead cats of the past. 

When Magmaclan is attacked by a leopard and nearly completely destroyed, it's Stoneleaf's quick thinking that allows him to escape with two kits, Umberkit and Duskkit while his clanmates fended off the beast as best they could. He's relieved to see that Mournstar also escapes...but with only those two- and two kits too young to fend for themselves, they're forced to try to rebuild their clan from nothing.

Stoneleaf needs starclan's guidance more than ever, and they fall silent upon his pleas...shaking his already weak resolve to answer to them and pushing him more into fighting for the here and now they still have. For the memories of his clanmates- and the future of the two kits who remain.
