Nika - Tracker

Looking for someone or something?  Someone or something that doesn't particularly want to be found?  Need discretion, efficiency, and a seeming lack of feline curiosity?  You need Nika.  Nika is a cunning and insightful adventurer who likes to keep her ears open and her mouth shut.  

She is in and out of Magie Village on a regular basis, finding it a relaxing place to lie low.  It doesn't hurt that the local government looks kindly on independent contractors who know how to leave business at the city limits.  Nor does it hurt that her kid sister Nina is often docked at Port Pearl.

Character Notes:

- Quiet, bordering on taciturn.  Smarter than she lets on and with an excellent memory.  Tends not to ask questions when inference will do.  Prefers to keep to herself, but highly protective of people and places she is fond of.  Likes to perform her acts of kindness at a distance, but not necessarily anonymously.  

- Can be found around the Port Pearl and Chanterelle Woods area.  When staying in town may stay on Nina's ship or let a room at Madame Zorya's.

- Avoids jobs that bring her to Magie Village and will not hesitate to tell a resident to take extra precautions if someone is "looking for them."  (Yes, this is against professional code, but it is squarely within Nika's personal code of keeping her preferred haunts safe and happy.)  Sure, the majority of the residents have magic abilities and little to fear, but forewarned is forearmed and Nika is all about being armed.  

- Nika will happily accept jobs that originate in Magie Village.  You need someone or something found?  Nika is your gal.  Witches always seem to have the most interesting assignments.

- Like her sister Nina, Nika is happy to trade in barter or for favors--paid to her or to her kid sister.  Nika knows perfectly well just how handy a magic specialist who owes you one can be.  Preferred barter items include weapons, portable magical devices, potions, and scrying services.

- Nika is not specifically a witch, but like many with a Meowth or Persian aspect, has inherent probabilty-altering abilities.  In Nika's case these manifest as innate navigation skill (she cannot get lost) and the ability to locate lost or hidden items.  This ability extends to card games and games of chance . . . something Nika tries not to abuse.

Connections:

• Nina: Little sister.  Nika will often hitch a ride on Nina's ship or lean on her for information when seeking a quarry.
• Madame Zorya: Sometimes landlady and sometimes client.  You don't reach Zorya's age without having a few enemies who need watching.
• Ursula: Friend and hired hand.  Nika took an immediate liking to this durable and action-oriented gal and calls on her whenever she needs a little extra muscle on a job.
