Abbadon

And so the legend spread across the land: of A brother who over the course of December loses almost everything he holds dear to him: His friends, his dreams, His parents (The father probably passed early on so maybe it doesn't count, but the mother would die giving birth to a child), his arm, and by Christmas he's lost his way in the blizzard, one arm missing and his baby brother/sister  slowly freezing to death. When all hope seems lost, he yells out in sorrow into the blizzard, hoping someone can hear him... Turns out someone did, but not exactly who he was expecting. The blizzard suddenly freezes in place, and a demon, who claims to be the master of the snow, comes forth. It offers to help save the little one, which the brother agrees without a second thought. The brother gains a new arm, which is warm to the touch and was what helped him reach home with the child, in his mind, barely alive. But the catch? It's unclear if the baby is really alive, or if a demon really did come to him to aid: For all anyone knows, this man has gone insane after one loss too many. It's hard to argue against the new arm, but otherwise...it could be all in his head.
