Myths tell of an ancient being that watches over all of humanity from the cosmos.
Some say, the chill you get and the paranoid feeling of being watched is actually the result of this cat-like-deity shifting its unseen gaze towards you. Some might feel its gaze more than others, as it tends to hone in on those who interest it.
It is said to have infinite wisdom about those dwelling below and beyond, and that one can access this power through the right rituals.

Most books tell that there must be a sacrifice made in the form of an animal or human life.
Most think that this being is just an old story, and they point to the lack of evidence supporting its existence.
It is hard to believe in something that has never been seen or summoned. What they don't know, is that this creature has, in fact, been summoned many times but those foolish enough to bring it out into the surface world do not live to tell of it.

Like so many movies and stories warn, a mere mortal cannot withstand the great burden of infinite knowledge. When one stares into this creature's eye to accept the wisdom of the universe, their fragile bodies find themselves overwhelmed and physically unable to consume the knowledge. The bodies burst into flames, leaving nothing but scattered ashes.
It is probably better that way. Though this power could be used for good, everyone knows man is inherently evil.
