Deerkit's father, Bearclaw, was a very curious tom. Deerkit was a stray found within their territory as a newborn. Deerkit remembers nothing but BluffClan but Bearclaw was always their family. From a young age, it was very clear how crazy he was bound to be. Racing around camp, tackling warriors bigger than him, full on just a hectic youngster.
Apprenticeship was the most exciting time of all. Fadedpaw and Deerpaw met and were instantly pals. Well, instantly in the sense of Deerpaw got into trouble and they told off warriors in turn. Yeah, the chores after that sucked but Fadedpaw often helped during all that! It was actually kind of fun. They also learned to buddy up with Icepaw at times, the older apprentice proving a strong foe. Then there was Molepaw, often stuck at the butt end of Deerpaw and Fadedpaw's poor jokes.
Deerpaw was eventually named Deerthorn and they proudly took the plunge at Diving Cliffs. It was honestly amazing. Bearclaw would eventually pass but Deerthorn didn't mourn like the others. Instead, he proudly held his head high, knowing their father was still proud of them. He had to be.
One day, several kits were found and brought into BluffClan. It was here that Driftpaw came from. Driftpaw, their most amazing apprentice! The two were peas in a pod. Wind and the sky. Sun and the moon. Two meant to always be together. No matter the troubles ahead, they'd tackle it together! Unfortunately, that came sooner than expected. Clawmoon and Mudlark were found dead. With Mudlark, Deerthorn and Driftpaw were drawn in to retrieve him. The battle that occured left them all nervous. But Driftpaw fought valiantly. Deerthorn found himself proud and yelling his apprentice's praise.
Despite everything BluffClan suffered through, Driftpaw would be named Driftmask which made Deerthorn so proud. And all at once, so lonely. They've since been trying to occupy their time joining other mentors, running more patrols, or just pestering cats in camp. It was such a good part of day to day life they had no clue they'd love. What's life to be without training an apprentice now...?

- Deerthorn has an ambitious streak and often eyes the high ranks with moderate jealousy. They really think "Deerstar" has a ring to it! But they also think cats don't respect them and doesn't understand why.

"My best friend and former troublemaker. I think we've both settled down some since those days. I don't want to admit it's due to what we've been through but more due to us training apprentices to be warriors. I know they haven't forgotten me and we're just busy... right?"
"Why is it so easy for me to think in my head all the nerves I have but then never have the courage to step up to her and just say it? Gah, we're grown up! Surely it's okay. Would I even be forgiven? Time heals all wounds so probably. I just need to do it. I need to do it and clear my head."
"Cardinalsnap's very fun for me. The way nyx glares at me is probably not all friendly but I certainly get a kick out of it. Jokes aside, much fun as it is to tease nyr, they're one of the only cats that talks to me seriously too. It's silly but I hope we can be friends."
"My pride and joy! Driftmask is so great and I'll fight anybody who says otherwise. Good head on his shoulders, always willing to take up my challenges- he's probably a huge reason I've changed. I want to be an even better warrior and mentor again because he's proven to me how great I am at it!"
