Profile

Meringue is a stunt clown and performer for the Butterscotch Big Top. He's usually very calm and casual, but people who get to know him come to find that his personality is not at all set in stone. His mood and demeanor tend to change rather frequently, but above all, he's usually a very pleasant and inviting energy to be around and spend time with, even when he's making a bit of a snarky remark.

One of the things he enjoys the most is performing alongside his found family at the Butterscotch Big Top, especially when it allows him to express himself and his thoughts, feelings, and specialties. He's known by many for always being able to put on a wonderful show, regardless of what it entails, as well as getting people to chuckle and laugh with a quip and a smile.

I can juggle eight items all at once, maybe more, all while standing on one foot on top of a beach ball. I think it's safe to say I'm pretty good!

BACKSTORY

Meringue was not always so casual and inviting toward others. He used to be a "street rat" who city locals knew as the Blue Bandit, due to the fact that he was an incredibly fast runner that used to steal from stands and shops without being caught. People thought of him as a menace and a pest, but he had no home after his parents passed, and everything he did and stole was in order to survive. Blue Bandit was very abrasive, detached, and cold, and he didn't trust others at all. That is, until one day he passed out in an alleyway on a cold night, and woke up in the home of Nougat. Nougat gave him a place to stay and loved him like a son, and even though it took a while for Blue Bandit to warm up and trust her, and even though he very seldom admitted to it, he did care about her as well. However, one day Blue Bandit needed to leave her in a hurry due to authorities knocking on her door asking about him. He fled and ran through a storm until he couldn't go any further, ending up on the grounds of none other than the Butterscotch Big Top. He took shelter underneath the awning of a stall in the back lot, and he soon fell asleep, exhausted. Once again, he woke up warm and sheltered, this time on the couch in ringmaster Sugar Glass' office. Sugar Glass offered him a home at the Big Top when he learned about his situation, and though it took even longer for him to learn to trust Sugar Glass and the other few members, he eventually did cave and learn to be compassionate and appreciate this new home. He learned to perform and apply his skills, as well as what it meant to have friends and family, and he even started to refer to himself by Meringue

Unfortunately, not all of the Butterscotch Big Top members were pleased with him. Black Pepper, who used to perform at the circus as well, didn't like Meringue or his presence. She accused him of stealing her spotlight, getting in her way, and making her look bad, when in reality this wasn't the case at all. Eventually, her envy and hatred toward him bubbled over and she decided to sabotage him to get him out of the way. During one of the Big Top's biggest performances of the month, Meringue was supposed to perform a stunt in which he made his way across a tightrope. However, this didn't go well at all. Black Pepper had tampered with the tightrope prior to the performance, and just when she realized that what she'd done was horrible, it was too late. The rope snapped beneath Meringue's feet and he fell down and further down. It was only due to the quick thinking of the other members that he survived the fall, but not without injury. The trampoline had only stopped his fall but so much, and he needed emergency medical assistance. Black Pepper fled the scene, never to be seen again, when she realized what she'd done. The Butterscotch Big Top didn't perform for a while while Meringue was healing, and the members stayed close by him during his recovery. He healed over time and the Big Top performed once again, and nowadays he performs well only experiences bad pains occationally. The Big Top was and still is very proud of his recovery, especially Sugar Glass, who thinks of him much like a son.
