Belanos was born to a high class dragon, from the day he hatched he had large shoes to fill. He was never allowed to be a child, always had to be on his best behavior and never aloud to run around or make a mess. He was to refer to his mother as "ma'am". His mother had high expectations for him that he was unfortunately unable to meet. She pushed him to make friends with high class children exclusively, all of whom he found to be extremely boring. She treated him as a political item rather than the child he was. He was pretty much the textbook definition of a Kitsooling; quiet, prideful, and polite. His entire childhood was spent in a desperate rush to please the one being that mattered to him, his mother. Unfortunately, she expected him to be absolutely perfect at all times, which as everyone knows, is impossible.

    He was expected to marry a pretty and rich girl. Someone who makes him look good. Belanos was indifferent to most things, but getting married was the one idea he despised. The idea of settling down with someone he barely tolerated sounded terrible. He sabotaged every date he was on, acting like an absolute and complete asshole. His mother found out about this and was furious, why would he do such a thing like that? He was throwing his chances of success away for no reason. He ran off a few days after the confrontation with his mother, she never saw him again. With no real friends and no clue how the real world worked he spend a long time homeless, barley getting by. He felt helpless and confused. He finally was able to snag a job at a bar, which he found to be surprisingly enjoyable.

    Which leads into the present. His upbringing caused him to put up barriers. Even today he wants desperately to be perceived as perfect while simultaneously being completely untouchable. He feels like if he acts like he knows everything, everyone else will believe he actually does. This unfortunately causes many to dislike him. He sits passively, waiting for something to happen. Belanos has given up trying to be anything other than what he's been his entire life, a fake. He knows he lacks both street smarts and brain smarts and has decided to just deal with it and live life day by day, barely getting by. If you asked him if he is happy with his life he would reply "I am content, and that's going to have to be enough."
