Kidnapped at three and forced into Jaegar's military school/concentration camp, Simperer neither knows his age nor his birth name. His identification number, 2.208, is tattooed on the back of his right hand, parallel to and along the bone of his index finger. He earned the name "Simperer" from the small, satisfied smile he gets when causing pain. Catchphrase is "I always win"--the soldiers are often pitted against one another in duels; the winner is the survivor of the match. He has OCD, depression (possibly bipolar) and DES trauma (constant state of PTSD). He loves long words, reading books, and writing snips of poetry, though he would never tell you so. He was forced to marry at twenty, but ended up falling in love with her anyway. She and the little girl that came along were two constants in the wildness of serving a maniacal tyrant--when they were killed, he went insane. Jaegar tortured him back to some form of sanity, but it's a delicate balance, and his trademark smile never reaches his eyes.
