Celfine Faeralei

Despite her gently smiling appearance, Celfine is very much a cold, calculating and cruel person. Although she is protective of those she cares for, like many are, there are few moral lines she will not step over to achieve her goals. She is excellent at hiding her true emotions, who she is, and disguising as someone else entirely, which naturally correlates with her mastery of illusion magic.

Some of the victims of her schemes have likened her to a playmaster, able to play with people's emotions, thoughts and actions like mere puppets on strings. She is someone few can afford to make an enemy of, as she will strip them dry and take everything they love and care for. She is vengeful and dishonest, and will remember a debt for centuries.

Celfine was born a princess of great wealth and prosperity, or at least, she should've been.

Birthed within the dredges of the great Faerie War, Celfine's mother, the Grand Queen of Faeryll, was running away with some servants and guards when she gave birth to her. Raised by travelling battlefield after battlefield, with her mother just trying to find a safe haven to raise her newborn despite the land being filled with nothing but war and bloodshed, Celfine's fairy blood gradually adapted to her unusual environment and turned her into something... unholy.

With irises and wings dyed the colour of blood, and an eerie white skin tone the colour of a corpse's bones, Celfine became an abomination never seen before, a blood fairy. Although worried about her daughter's future, Celfine's mother continued to love her all the same, alongside her loyal servants. But, she was careful to warn her.

Seeing as the faeries were about to lose the war, and then most be likely enslaved by the human race alongside the rest of the non-human races, Celfine's mother knew that it was highly likely that her dear daughter would be killed on the spot for her horrific appearance. And so, she taught her magic, more specifically, illusion magic. Until her time ran out, having long been wearied by the tragedy that befell her kingdom, she passed on all that she could onto her young daughter so that she could survive and live on.

After her mother's passing, Celfine, with the help of the last of her mother's servants, infiltrated a human kingdom. After a couple months of preparation and research, Celfine killed a young human girl that looked quite similar to herself, but was neglected by her family and friends, and replaced her very existence. Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, her new persona was a noble's daughter, an earl's to be exact.

A couple years after her infiltration, having acclimatized to her new environment quickly and even improved relations between her family, she met her future life partner, who at this time was nothing more than a half-demon slave. Compelled by his resolute yet intelligent eyes, one of which having black scelera due to his heritage, Celfine persuaded her 'father' to purchase him for her.

To the outside, he was her favourite pet. But on the inside, he was her loyal servant and spy. Many years passed slowly like this, as Celfine gradually built up her underground network(The Underwyld) for the non-human races and started long-term schemes to put her men in positions of power. She waited patiently for the right time to activate her plans, for that one moment when a spark of chaos would shake the humans' power.

During the mean-time, in her life as an earl's daughter, she married a duke's son and became a duchess. The duke's son was a shy, humble but hard-working fellow, who had fallen for her at first sight when they were younger. Celfine never aimed for this position of power, but she welcomed the freebie and wrapped him around her little finger after their marriage. Since she didn't want to deal with questions about children, she turned him infertile and made one of his enemy's the scapegoat for the deed, as she continued her schemes within the underwyld.

• The only drawing I have of Celfine right now was done two years ago(2018), a little while after I first started digital drawing, but I'd love to redraw her when I can!
• The main inspiration for Celfine stemmed from the fairy race idea I came up with, where faeries adapt and change according to their surroundings until adolescence.
• Some characters I'd like to create/include in the future involve: her human husband, the half-demon king, the dark violet of high society, her human family and her fairy-queen mother.
