Darcy Leigh has a loud and reckless personality. She enjoys being outgoing with strangers like they’re her friends. She’s always been a social bee and knows a large chunk of people in the large city she lives in. Although Darcy can be kind hearted and treat just about anyone as family, she can be sassy and make harsh remarks to some people at first glance. However, she is always up for a good time going out to dinner parties and spending time with her best friend, Dolly. As of currently, Darcy works as a part-time waitress and a hair stylist at her mother’s shop downtown. One day she hopes to move out of the city to become a professional hair stylist for famous people. 

Ever since she was a child, she always admired her mother. Darcy’s father walked out on Darcy and her mother when she was very young. She doesn’t remember her father and not once has he visited her since the day he walked out on them. Since then, her mother remained single and stayed strong for her daughter. She raised Darcy all on her own with some help from Darcy’s grandmother. From a young age, Darcy always admired her mother’s outgoing attitude, especially on days when it was tough. 

Darcy’s mother was a hair stylist who owned her own shop downtown. She made good money on what she did. Darcy would sometimes have to stay at her mother’s shop downtown if the babysitter wasn’t available, which she enjoyed. In the shop, she was adored by all of the women who came in to get perms and wasn’t treated like she was ‘different’ because of her hair. All different types of people with different hair types came in and not once was she judged by the other women. For once she felt welcomed and she finally found her safe space. Darcy usually sat in the corner and watched the transformation her mother would give other women. To Darcy, it was like they transformed into different people and she was always interested in the before and after result. From there, she found her calling. She wanted to take after her mother’s work. 

Darcy first met Dolly in freshman year of high school. Since then, they’ve been stuck with each other ever since. There’s not a day that goes by where they’re not hanging out since they’re roommates in a rented apartment and they work in the same cafe every morning. Darcy is one of the very few people who know about Dolly’s second life on stage. When Darcy isn’t busy with work, she will offer to help out with Dolly’s hair and makeup backstage before her performances. She does this on some nights knowing Dolly is stressed before her shows. By taking on a task as important as her hair, it lifts that stress off a bit. Darcy acts like an older sister to Dolly at times. She likes to look out for her knowing she can be naive at times. Especially when it comes to new people entering in her life.
