Designer's Notes

1. The butterfly species this character is inspired by is the Dragontail Butterfly.
2. Thus the color palette, which can be changed to suit your liking.
3. Because these works are traditional and digital folks tend to color pick instead of eyeball, a basic palette image is included for them to color pick from instead. This is not a slight towards my own photography skills, I just use coloring/painting techniques that are unfriendly to the practice and they may not get the color that they're after.
4. The type of kimono the character is wearing is called "Susohiki." It is a long kimono worn by geisha, kabuki actors, and people performing traditional Japanese dances.
5. Not shown: The type of knot on this character's obi is called the "chōchō musubi," or "butterfly knot." It is apparently a very common knot and may be a bit informal with this kimono but, butterfly. Since it fits the challenge why not?
6. The afore-mentioned extra pair of arms are optional.
7. The antennae are very flexible and can be hidden in the hair. Or removed entirely.
8. The markings on the face is based on kabuki facepaint and is totally optional.
9. No sex or gender is assigned to this character; The addition of secondary sexual characteristics and other details is completely up to you to decide upon. What is presented is merely a baseline to be tweaked in whichever direction you see fit.

You don't have to keep all of these features. Seriously. Go ham on changing them around, its your character now. Just be sure that, if you do, when reposting the originals across other media platforms that you credit and link back to me.
