Gwen

Gwen's best friend from childhood who was very close and protective of her (despite the occasional light teasing). Gwen was once a very shy child who didn't interact much with other children except for Xander. They used to play and explore together, occasionally getting hurt in the process because of their curiosity so Gwen made a habit of carrying bandaids just in case he got hurt.

He once told her "Ghosts aren't real" but no matter how much she insisted they were, he wouldn't believe her even with what is yet to come. The two children later get into an accident resulting in Xander receiving the scar he now has on his face from trying to protect Gwen. Gwen's parents were convinced something demonic attacked the children so they attempted to exorcise and cleanse their home but eventually moved away for their family's safety. The two would reunite years later and while both may have changed slightly they still retained the same closeness they had since childhood. They didn't realise it back then but the "thing" that attacked them years ago would come back with a vengeance.

Gwen's demon hunting father who has an impressive amount of knowledge in the supernatural, science and combat skills. He taught Gwen how to read Latin and various things about mythology, folk lore and exorcism.

Gwen's clairvoyant mother who possesses psychic abilities. She is able to create protective barriers which repel spirits and demons. With her husband, they taught Gwen about the supernatural and different exorcism styles as well as other languages such as Japanese. She has always encouraged Gwen to be creative and adventurous.

Gwen's former boyfriend from high school. Together they were known as "that goth couple" by their peers. They share a lot of common interests and get along pretty well. He was her date at senior prom but their relationship ended some time after starting college. They chose to remain friends however and still hang out sometimes.

They dated at some point but not for long. Gwen felt he was too erratic and obscure, that there truly weren't connecting. They still talk occasionally.
