NightStar canonically is not a shapeshifter. However, due to some unexpected alchemy results concocted up by Kusuri this form changing happens more often than she usually expects. Sometimes intentionally or not. These alt forms are a temporary shift and not a permanent form for her. Sometimes even one form may not even have the same identical markings as a previous shift. This is caused by the effects of used potions. One thing that always stays the same are some of her trademark features such as her color scheme, dragon scales, and the most important feature, her elegant gold markings.
