These two met when Mirriam was out one calm spring morning gathering fresh wild herbs and fruit from the nearby orchard. But when she heard singing coming from down a less trodden path, she followed it. Gradually the foliage began to thicken, gnarled briars catching at her gown, yet still she was compelled on by the mysterious voice.
Soon she came upon a calm clearing after breaking a pathway through a thorn bush, a calm lake resting at the foot of a waterfall, the water crystal clear that you could see all the way to the lake bed. And there they met, Aveline humming a melody that seemed to echo around her as she rested, letting the water lap at her coat.
