Shouzan has a talent for gardening and bringing up plants of all kinds. Her knowledge and talent in horticulture is revered by many, but she's very humble about it. Because of Shou's expertise, she's revered as a local apothecary of sorts.
Although talented and studious, Shouzan is humble about her skills and doesn't go heading into situations without first considering circumstances and risks, unlike a certain relative of hers. She is patient and considerate, but can be sharp with her words when need be, especially when something is out of her current skill level. That doesn't make it any less hard for her to know that she was unable to help someone in need, which only fuels her drive to study and work harder to improve her skills and expand her knowledge with her florae.
Shou's coat mainly sports hues of blue with white markings lining the edges of her ears, feet and tails. A bright minty green dons her scales, paw pads, nose and eyes. Shou's most striking features are arguable the tattoo-like marks on her forepaws, which are shaped like lotus flowers, and on either side of her flank, in the shape of an open eye.
Shouzan was left with Jiang Lian's family after her birthfather was no longer able to provide for her needs well enough. Though she was young and didn't exactly understand it at the time, she didn't mind living with Lian and their family, since they were all very kind to her and treated her like one of their own. Shou adressed Lian like an elder sibling, but they were more of a patriarchal figure than any other individual had been in her life, admittedly.
Because Shou grew up with a family of lotus farmers, she had a knack for plants and would help out in their greenery whenever possible, building up interest in florae from a very young age.
