Athauror

A Leviathan unlike any other, Athauror has been raised from birth as a literal and figurative saviour of his cursed people.  His humanoid appearance, vastly different from his draconic Leviathan forefathers, is a mystery even to his kind.  He is in love with Aqua, a Star-Child he should consider an enemy.

Appearance

The most defining aspect of Athauror's appearance is his stature, approaching 7 feet tall.  He is immense and thickly built with a combination of fat and muscle. His skin is a pale grey colour, and covered with tattoo-like markings - a staple of Leviathan appearance.  His ears are pointed and black at the tips.  His eyebrows are thick and he usually sports a stubble on his face.  His eyes are grey and his very short hair is a pale blond.  He almost always wears a brownish grey war paint over his eyes.

Athauror usually wears a black leather armoured vest, with shoulder pads and braces at the wrists.  He usually wears black trousers and usually goes barefoot or with light sandals.

His body is covered in scars from his childhood "training" at the hands of his adoptive father, Doros, and he can often be seen with fresh wounds from rough housing with the other Leviathans.

Personality

Athauror has been raised from birth being told he was different, and that his birth meant something to the cursed Leviathans around him.  He was often paraded around, with people asking for blessings and asking for a listening ear for their woes.  He was taught to always appear confident, and never show his fears in front of his people.  His adoptive parents were convinced of some greater purpose for him and have done everything they could to protect him, while also training him and hardening him to what life is truly like for his kind.

He keeps his weaknesses and self-doubt in himself buried, but the right words and pressure will draw it out of him.  His elder adoptive brother, Malkov, is particularly adept at this, knowing just what hurts Athauror the most - playing on his fear of weakness and failure in his duty to protect and save his people.

Athauror has a particular love of smaller Leviathans, and often takes them under his own protection.  In return, he is rewarded with their love and absolute loyalty.  He hates to see these small creatures in pain and will often take beatings from the larger Leviathans in order to protect them.  

Meeting Aqua was the turning point in Athauror's life and called into question everything he had ever learned from his elders.  He is absolutely dedicated to the Star-Child and runs great risk to protect their relationship, knowing Aqua would suffer greatly if anyone, Leviathan or Star-Child, found out about them.  He finds comfort in the Star-child's company and finds he can unburden himself emotionally to Aqua, which he can't do with other Leviathans. 

Ultimately, he is torn between doing what his people expect of him and staying true to what he feels in his heart.

Trivia

• He does not know who his biological mother or father were.
• Has a small collection of trinkets that Leviathans have gifted him over the years, including armour, weapons and jewellery.
• His favoured weapon is a gigantic axe.
• He likes to rough-house with other Leviathans and despite the immense physical difference between him and other Leviathans, he is able to hold his own.
• He has learned much of Leviathan culture and history from his Elders, despite most knowledge being lost to history. 
• His armour is Imp-made.
