Roody

Roody is a adventurous, courageous and curious male fossa, whose best friend is the hoopoe bird, Haja. The forest Roody grew up in has spiritual powers. In the heart of the forest, hidden in a giant cave, lays the spirit tree. The spirit tree chooses a soul to be the guardian of the forest. Their job is to protect all life within their territory.  When the guardian is chosen they will be covered with spiritual markings, to show everyone who they are. When one guardián gets defeated, the spirit tree moves on to choose the next one. 

Roody became the forest’s next guardian the night his mother was killed by other fossas. These are also the causes for his scars and missing eye. He accidentally stumbled into the cave when escaping, and got introduced to the spirit tree and the forest’s histories. 

He later on met Haja when he was hurt by predators, and they became best friends.
