Avery lives in the moment and has way too much energy to be kept contained. Finding difficulty in sitting still and focusing, he struggles immensely academically and actively avoids subjects which would portray him as dumb.
He's a thoughtful and caring sweetheart through and through, preferring to go without if it means his friends are better off.
