From the moment she was taken in by the government, her purpose was to be raised as a foreign agent. She was taken care of on the base with two other orphans, who would become her subordinates. Eventually, she was sent to Japan at the age of 7 to a host father. Her mission was to observe energy sources there along with him and enlist and infiltrate the military, and to smuggle herself back to the USA with her findings and artifacts when finished.

When she finally arrived, she lived in solitude and independence. She rarely interacted with others her age. However, she found herself playing on the playground for entertainment while she waited to be enrolled into her new school. One day, she found herself being cornered by a duo of girls who intended to bully her, but a boy stepped in to drive them away. The young lady was shocked at his display of bravery and humbleness, and called him the "coolest boy she ever met." The two talk, and the boy takes a giant liking to her, offering to take her to play at her house. The boy, who goes by Akatsuki, and his mother take her in with open arms. Haniwa calls her father at their house as she intended, and the two have a heart-to-heart about Haniwa's purpose. Her father, despite being assigned to her for the purpose of their mission, tells Haniwa that as long as she's careful about her status, he will let her live as a child should. Though not her father by blood, he cares for her like one should. Akatsuki, who vaguely overheard the conversation, holds her hands and tells her that he will always be her friend. Thus, their inseperable childhood friendship began.

They spent time together through elementary, junior high, and high school before they enlisted. Akatsuki was often at Haniwa's home (because of her father's worries,) but there were the rare times she was in Akatsuki's home, be it to babysit or a rare "yes" from papa. She also reconnected with her two subordinates and grew close to them.

After they enlist, Haniwa became a military engineer and personal archaeologist to find new technology. She collected artifacts and information to smuggle home. Akatsuki's...feelings...towards Haniwa began to worry him and distracted him from his own work, getting into problems with his superior. Because of this, he decided the best course of action was to sever ties. It didn't work out so well, and there was an odd hostility during the event. Haniwa grew somewhat cold towards him and tried to avoid him as much as possible, though sometimes working together was inevitable. None of this was out of spite, but rather was to respect his wishes. After the apparent death of Akatsuki, she was heartbroken beyond belief and wished that their last words to each other weren't empty. She worked harder towards her mission, smuggled herself back home with her subordinates, and settled back home for a while, grievous until she was able to pick herself back up.

Word spread about an officer breaking out of ice at the Arctic Ocean, and Haniwa was ordered to get DNA tests with a team, but received no results. She was then ordered to find the source of the incident and subdue the energy sources [in Tibet.] She traveled around, only slowly finding out through her opponents that someone she has formerly known has risen from his supposed to be grave. and shortly like whatever happens in en-eins she goes through too and subdues the perfecti shit and all dude en-eins lore is like picking from twigs and rocks

In the event of all the conflict being over, Haniwa decides to stay and settle back in Japan, but secluded herself to avoid suspicion. However, unchanged in appearance, the old friend Haniwa tried searching for desperately after the Arctic Ocean incident appears in front of her home. He was apologetic and came with a will to reconcile. The old woman can only muster a few bits of dialogue.

"I'm so glad you're alive. Please, don't let me lose you again..."
