Blyss Alani

Born in the cooler months that encompass the canyons of Sunspear, Blyss was born to an ironically, blissfully unaware young and happy family. Though they would not stay that way for long. Blyss’s mother, Ailith was a young and feisty warrior for her tribe, while her father was a Drover of the herds. What Ailith didn’t know about her mate, was his addiction to alcohol. The male had managed to keep the trait hidden as he would only slip into the addiction when out with the herds for weeks on end. It would have stayed this way as well if Alaric’s damaging behavior had not caused the careless death of a portion of the herd, as the animals were chased off the cliff by the fault of Alaric. He was taken back to the tribe, and shamed for weakness of the mind and carelessness, causing death. Seeing the look in his mate’s eyes drove the male to leave his home and seek a new start where he would not be seen as the disappointment he was now. He would never see his mate again.

Ashamed by her first choice in mates, Ailith felt her own pressure to quickly gain a new and much more useful mate to show she could hold a decent man. Citali, a guard, quickly caught Ailiths eyes and the pair were quickly mated. As this all took place, Blyss spent most of her time in the tribe with the caretakers. Playing and learning how to be a useful member of the tribe, but this was quickly diminished when Citali came into her life. The male was strict and old fashioned in his ways. Dictating that if he and Blyss’ mother were a part of the guard, Blyss should be too. Quickly the pup was thrown into an apprenticeship. Her mentor being more of a “attack first train later” sort of mentor. Blyss’ few weeks in training were a horror on her mind and body, leaving her bruised and saddened. Blyss was not made for warlike her mother. There wasn’t a violent bone in her body. When she did catch alone time with her mother though, they were the best moments in her young life. Blyss’s mother was gentle and patient with her pup, even teaching her how to sew damaged garments and make them anew. While this practice was ignored by Citali for a long time, he quickly became averse to it as Blyss decided she enjoyed making things much more than breaking them. If only she knew what it would lead too.

As time bore on, Blyss became more and more skilled in making clothing, and less so in her battle training. Most days she wouldn’t even show up, deciding instead to spend her time with the artisans and learning how to recreate the designs they painted into her stitching. While Ailith was proud her daughter had become so adept at an ability she enjoyed, Citali despised the pup for disobeying him. Secretly the male began to abuse the pup. First it was rude or intimidating glances, then it was words. Calling the pup names and then it went on to destroying things she made in fits of anger. At first Ailith called him on his behavior, but it quickly turned on the older female as well. The tension was beginning to rise between them, and as Blyss watched things grow tenser, she received a letter from her father…

The long since absent male wrote of how he was now living in the Aurora kingdom and the great things he had seen. How he wished his daughter well and hoped she would visit him soon. On a whim… Blyss replied. Soon the two were communicating constantly. The young female sneaking letters to a messenger and receiving them back. Soon, Blyss has an idea forming in her head… and one night as her parents raged on, Blyss finally cracked. Pulling all the letters from her father out from below her pelts, Blyss through them at her mother, letting the notes drift through the air as she announced that if there was such a problem, she would leave and they would never have to worry of her again… racing back into her room, Blyss grabbed the few items she owned and left the land she’d always known for the woods in the distant horizon. She’d make a new and better life for herself with her real father.

If only things had been as good as they seemed in his letters.. When Blyss made it to the capitol, she did not find the great adventures her father had spoken of instead she found a city of many more dogs then she had ever seen- all different breeds and kindnesses alike. Finally finding her father in a worn-down tavern, so drunk he was drooling on the bar. That night the little female slept on the floor of the pub, waiting for the morning when her father would awake and they could go to his home… perhaps it would be nicer. If only he’d had one. Instead, the male was living on the streets. Scrounging for coins and sleeping in the pubs. This was not the life the little female had been hoping to find. Now she was trapped in a large and unforgiving kingdom with no home to go back too… she was lost.

Nearly two weeks after entering the kingdom, Blyss was destitute and starving on the streets. Left with nothing more than a ragged bag and her own pelt, the now young female had nothing left to herself. Convinced she would die on the streets, Blyss accepted her fate. At least, she did until a very fancy looking males shadow crossed over her one day. Meeting the Vilds gaze through a haze of dirt and starvation, Blyss was offered a job.

Suddenly, the female was bathed, fed, and given a job working under the other strumpets. Her coat went from a dulled and brown coat to her normal flaming red- her gaze looked like it was made of a blazing flame and her fur its deep embers. She was beautiful again, and suddenly able to afford a small hut for her and her father. Blyss was moving up in the world.
