Nyster

Nyster’s father was a dominant gray wolf, larger than most but without wings or the vicious killer instincts of nearby Hellhounds. Relegated to lesser roles within society which he could not overcome, he moved away from the Hellhounds and the City of Gryst to start his own den.

Nyster is the fifth of eight pups living in the highland below Mount Crna in the Baghar Mountains. The dark brown and gray wolf learns superior tracking skills from his father without the interfering prejudice of the Hellhounds. During a trip with his father to Gryst, the Royal Guard forcibly conscript them as scouts. The war with the fox had ended but pirates plague the kingdom. Nyster and his father locate numerous bandits and lead many successful raids on outlaw encampments. During one raid his father dies despite Nyster’s efforts to save him. Awarded the King’s Golden Dagger for heroism while leading the Royal Guard on a successful mission deep into enemy territory, Nyster gains his release from the military.

Settling in Baghar Village with his new den, Nyster establishes himself as a Master Tracker. Called upon once again to track down the wandering Royal Herd, he successfully locates them and is rewarded 1000 gold nules by King Houcut. However, Nyster shuns the corrupt politics of the Village leaders preferring a quiet life in a common setting. Unfortunately, the Village politicians feel threatened by his unswerving integrity and conspire to have him murdered.
