Eve (Vulpine)

The Arctic Hero.

Hero Name: Vulpine

Quirk: Yokai

Eve’s quirk grants her the ability to transform into a large fox-like creature. Her fox form also grants her increased speed, strength, sight, hearing, and other characteristics resembling a fox.

Limitations:

• Eve cannot stay in fox form for very long, due to the amount of energy it uses. After a period of about eight minutes, she will start to feel the effects of exhaustion. After ten minutes, her body will force herself to revert to her normal state while still exhausted.
• While speed is Eve’s strongest suit in this form, trying to run for even a few minutes at a time will use up more energy, shorten her transformation time and exhausting her faster.
• Eve loses a bit of herself while in fox form, causing her to act more uninhibited. She may not always be able to determine who is friend or foe and may act more hostile/animal-like.

Primary Course Focus: Rescue

Eve appears to be shy and quiet from a distance, but actually she’s quite the opposite. She rarely talks unless she is spoken to first, but isn’t afraid of speaking out or making unwanted remarks. Brutally honest, she will let you know what she thinks whether you want to hear her or not. She's very passionate about her interests and will talk anyone ear off about them given the chance. Letting nothing stand in her way, Eve is determined to succeed at any given task, important or not. She is also extremely loyal to those who she calls her friends and family. She will go to great lengths to protect and support them and will cherish them for a long time.

She has a knack for taking note of surroundings and remembering little traits about the people around her. She listens very well and often observes those around her, sometimes staring at strangers by accident. Eve can become extremely competitive just to prove herself. Even if it’s a simple dare, she’ll take it and go the extra mile because she can.

Eve tends to get irritable and cranky very quickly. Eve has an uneasy temper which she struggles to control. Impatient and quick to judge, she'll snap at people for little to no good reason and will become hostile if someone is annoying her. It’s difficult for Eve to open up and have a close relationship with someone because she is is prone to close herself off after she is upset. She tries to keep a distance from those around her so she can calm herself down. She has a very difficult time trusting people and once someone holds her trust, they will never get it back if they break it.

Eve was born in the heart of New York as the eldest child of two. For the first few years of her life, she lived with her little brother and her parents in the city. Her mother worked as an up and rising actress, while her father was a retired Pro Hero and now a journalist. However, her parents ended up filing a divorce by the time Eve turned eight years old and her mother took custody of both her and her brother. From then on, Eve began to feel incredibly distant between her and her parents -- her father had up and moved away, while her mother worked long hours and rarely spent quality time with her children at home. Babysitters and nannies were the norm. The young girl desperately wanted attention from her parents, and eventually she became bitter and ill-behaved. But even so, she felt responsible for taking care of her younger brother, Connor. Though she wasn't the best sister, she tried her best to be there for him. How Eve discovered her quirk was by accidentally shifting into a fox-like form while running to comfort a crying Connor. She thought that this discovery would make her mother happy, but it only made her remember her husband -- the one Eve inherited her quirk from.

The eldest child struggled with controlling her quirk and her own attitude. She spat at every babysitter, got into fights in school, and couldn't seem to find one steady friend. Her childhood was lonely but bittersweet, because she always had her brother to cheer her up when she needed it most. Their favorite activity to cheer each other up was to read comics about heroes or watch the Pro Heroes on the news together. Though Connor wasn't all for becoming a hero, Eve frequently daydreamed about it. Heroes were the coolest thing in the world to her. She wanted to protect others who needed protecting just as she does with Connor. However, she felt that she couldn't become a proper hero. She knew she had her bad temper and her weak grip on her quirk. Her mother would hardly want to support her, she thought, so why bother?

While Eve began high school with no hero-focused classes, she watched their mother successfully become an A-list actress. Her time at home was shortened so much she could not come back home every night, which led to Eve taking care of most things in the house 24/7. She found herself unhappy and frustrated with the way she was living. She began to close herself off even further, making attempts to control her quirk better in her own room. Connor eventually saw this and worried for his older sister. After several attempts to reach out to a mother who was working away from home, he decided to try to get into contact with their father. It was not easy to reach him, let alone convince him to visit, but he came one day. Eve was immediately cold towards her father, for not visiting or making an attempt to take care of his children. The man was solemn, seeing how his absence had taken a toll on her. Though he could not make up for all the years he missed, he offered her guidance with her quirk and a path to become a hero, and Eve accepted.

After graduating high school, Eve spent more time with her father with learning about the roots of her quirk and what she wanted to be. For once, she had the support she wanted from both her brother and her parent. Her outlook on becoming a hero became more positive, and she began working towards doing just that. Her father suggested applying to Schuyler University and Eve, determined to do something she wanted to do for a change, did just that.

• Likes to take walks when she is bored or to think by herself. Sometimes around campus, other times outside.
• Likes to wear a lot of black in her clothing. She loves over-sized hoodies and sweatshirts, but is open to whatever is in style.
• Loves alternate rock/punk bands. Once cried over a band's break up for a week.
• However, she enjoys dancing to pop/electronic music and has an affinity for K-Pop. She enjoys dancing to it, copying the music video dances, and even has favorite bands.
• Used to take ice skating classes when she was younger with Connor. Though she would only ice skate in her free time, she knows her brother wants to be a figure skater when he grows up.
• Also used to take dance classes frequently while growing up. Now she's the president of the dance club in Schuyler.
• Very much enjoys the cold. Will sit in a pile of snow and not give a damn. Her tolerance of the cold may been inherited from her mother's side.
• English is her first language, however she knows an average amount of Japanese. She learned from her father.
