Personality

He's basically everyone's cheerful grandfather who wants the best for you and takes dad jokes to a whole new level. Barnacle finds joy in making others happy and has way too many stories of his past adventures. Nowadays, he just wants to live life to the fullest and gather up all the prettiest beach shells he can. Simple ambitions, perhaps, but he's a simple cat, and fine with it. There's nothing more delightful to this fellow than a bonfire on the shore, his found family enjoying the stars around him and trading songs and tales. This cat is by no means a fighter. Peace is best to him.

History

Barnacle used to have a family - a big family, that lived in a farmhouse and enjoyed a good life. He had no worries in the world, and for the first half of his life, that was all he knew. One day, when he was perhaps 40 moons old, the humans who were in charge of the farmhouse decided to get rid of all the cats living there. They sent humans in to catch all the cats, and Barnacle, not knowing what was happening, ran and ran. By the time he stopped, he was hopelessly lost and on his own, for the first time in his life.

He wandered for many moons, finding shelter where he could, until he discovered a small island just off the shore. It was the perfect place to live, and he set up camp there right away. But the place just felt wrong without friends to share it with... and hence, Barnacle put out a call to any cats wanting to live by the sea, and the Coral Collective was born.

Role

Barnaclestar may be the leader of this group of cats, but his rank really isn't much of anything to him, or anyone else. He can come in to settle disputes and be a listening ear, but what Barnacle really is is the friendly guide for a bunch of beach dwellers.  He likes to say that everyone in the group is equal, with rank titles only helping to determine who to look for if someone gets hurt, or if they should be wandering far away on their own or not. He doesn't even have nine lives - but other cats call him 'star' anyway. As flawed as this cat is, he somehow has gained respect.
