She/Her - Maiden from the Moon - Bi

Gale was once a aristocrat on a Kalon colony on the moon, particularly known for its strict rules and taboos. All her life, she was told that if she were to go to the earth, she’d die. Isolated from the rest of kalonkind for centuries on end, that was what many of the citizens believed. She was always comfortable living on the moon but she found the earth it orbited was beautiful with its blues and green, always going out at night just to look at it. Life was always the same on the colony; while she lived in relative luxury she found herself wanting to explore outside of it; considered a crime if she were ever to leave the colony at any point. While the thought of maybe taking a spaceship on a short joyride was tempting, she too believed the dangers that the society taught her were true. She was a good citizen, she thought. Until one day, another kalon from somewhere else in the galaxy crashed onto the moon.

While normally the authority would’ve found them by now, Gale stumbled upon them as they crawled out of the ruined spaceship and saw that they were injured. While it was instructed by the colony to leave them alone in these types of situations, she didn’t stop to think as she pulled the stranger from the ship. With a few looks to see if there was anyone watching, she quickly grabbed them and brought them back home to hide them from the watchful eyes of the society.

The strange Kalon was throughly thankful for her help as Gale tended to their wounds, and was surprisingly talkative to her. They’d explained that they had a engine malfunction and they were from a different colony further out in space, but that they grew up on earth and they were returning to visit where they grew up again. She was puzzled, but wanted to learn more of the outside world beyond the moon. She listened to them talk about earth, other planets and laughed with them all the same, and the occasional sneaking out to help them fix up their spaceship. Gradually as they bonded, she unknowingly fell for them and she was willing to do anything to them and was sad to see that they couldn’t stay there forever. Unfortunately just as they were to leave she got caught for housing a refugee in her house. Gale sacrificed herself to keep them escape, as they promised they would save her once they could, escaping from the moon to the earth. By holding a stranger not from the moon colony she was to be executed for treason; sent down from the moon into the earth’s atmosphere to burn up. While she now knew the planet below was inhabitable, she knew that there was very slim chance she would survive the fall. As she was loaded onto the rocket, she felt scared yet defiant looking down at the blue planet. Her last memories were that she found herself looking at the moon in terror as the place she was born in sent her to die.

However, for Gale, it wasn’t quite the end. Miraculously she survived the descent as the rocket burned around her, crash landing in a forest. However, she was never quite the same afterwards due to the extent of her injuries.

A nearby witch found her gravely injured; with multiple burns and blinded from the shrapnel from the wreckage of the ship. Hurriedly, she bought Gale inside to tend to her wounds in her small hut, in which Gale didn’t remember clearly. When the witch questioned her on what happened she was unable to answer; the fall had made her lose memory of everything before that brought her here, and she only remembered her name and the terror she felt in the ship. Nothing of the sacrifice she took, the stranger she kept safe, or her conviction. None of her past identity was there.

Gradually, Gale recovered under the care of Stella however, her eyesight would never be recovered. She lived under the witch, learning about her and her stories that she would tell of her magic, in which Gale found herself intrigued in. As she had nowhere else to go as she was unfamiliar with the environment, her temporary stay turned permanent. Although she was unable to see the new world she was in for herself, Stella made sure Gale had what she needed; A sword that doubled as a cane that could both defend herself and help her navigate around, as well as familiars of Stella’s to help look out for Gale. As many years passed they both eventually fell in love through similar circumstances.

As of the present, Gale lives with her girlfriend Stella in the middle of the woods. Together, they sell potions and medicine to the nearby town, living a quiet, peaceful life away from the bustle of civilization. Slowly but surely, Gale is slowly regaining her memories of her life on the moon and the stranger she helped in which she is curious about their whereabouts. She is sure that one day they’ll meet again, but for now she is content living with Stella in a life much more peaceful than her old one.
