Profile

Meridian Sunyo is an unusual young vagrant claiming to be from the lost  archipelago of Perakami. Sometimes, he claims to be the apocalyptic  prophet Aphelion, sometimes he claims to be a very ordinary person, and  sometimes he claims he's here to kill the prophet instead. It's not  clear which is true, only that it's certainly... difficult to entirely  believe any of the above. While their inner monologue mostly reveals a mundane life as the only son of pair of antique shop owners, it also  reveals a strange encounter with a mysterious pirate and a career as a  burgeoning oracle. They are deeply entangled with the artificial spirits  of Kalirang. We'll get to that eventually.

They are very polite and a bit awkward; they have a reduced affect  display, which becomes quickly becomes noticeable to others that spend  time with them. Mery strongly lacks in ego - both in the sense that they  are devastatingly insecure and that they have a very weak sense of  self. However, he is a skilled manipulator, often exploiting his own  naive exterior to use others to his advantage - make someone think you'll do what they want, and they won't even notice when the reverse  happens instead. Despite constantly demonstrating his frustrations with  it, he is strictly adherent to his own opaque ethics and a sense of  "responsibility..." for what exactly is not quite clear. Meridian struggles heavily with his own morality, though he expresses an intent  to not become "evil." They try to remain objective and restrained,  believing they do not have feelings in quite the same way as others  do... but, of course, they cannot help but act on said feelings  sometimes, anyways. They are modest about their capabilities and often  flounder under the spotlight. He will always return a favor. Despite  their incredible magic capacity, they have a tendency to be lazy and  always try to avoid conflict. In most scenarios, they keep their facade of nonaggression until faced with mortal danger and don't particularly  enjoy fighting, though they seem to enjoy humiliating their opponents when the opportunity shows itself.

Resurrected by the spirit Lian some half a millennia after his death during the fall of Perakami, Meridian is now host to a powerful space-warping relic (which is also responsible for perfectly preserving  his body in the time between). It's a little damaged, though, but he's  not pressed about it... In fact, he seems kind of relieved. They can summon a set of four rings that can be used as portals, forcefields,  attractor/repulsor beams, disk blades, or uh, a method of locomotion? They stand on them and use them like levitating rollerskates. He has a  degree of telekinesis but cannot lift anything heavier than what he  could normally carry. In order to fuel his magic (and his lifeforce), he  must sacrifice other relics - the amount of power he gets is directly proportional to the power of the relic he sacrifices. Unlike most  reliquaries, he usually removes his horns.
