Reiner was born in the town of Alvarna, the birthplace of the arts in Etharia. And of course, as a citizen of Alvarna, Ren grew up surrounded by music and artistic talent. His parents were avid lovers of art, his father being an oil painter, and his mother an esteemed pottery sculptor. When Ren was born, the two decided to let home be his blank canvas, allowing him to draw all over the walls and cupboards as he became a toddler, allowing him to express himself artistically in whatever way he could imagine. The house became a world of color, the little family enjoying the time they spent together, involving Reiner in each of their respective hobbies. Some weekends, Ren would be covered in oil paint, and other times in drying clay, but he and his parents wouldn't have had it any other way. As Ren grew older, his parents urged him to forge his own path in a subject he enjoyed, but he had spent so much time enjoying his parents' hobbies that he hadn't thought of one for himself- until he saw his first guitar.

He and his family had gone on a weekend outing around Alvarna, as they normally did, and decided to stay to see the evening band play their set. It was then that Ren had laid his eyes on the guitarist, playing an old Les Paul acoustic. He fell in love with the crisp, authentic sound, and immediately decided that he wanted his own. Excited to support their son, his parents gathered up the money to get him his first acoustic guitar for his birthday. It was a wrap after that, the boy barely coming out of his room in favor of wearing his fingerprints away on the strings, creating his own music, and playing it for his parents to enjoy after dinner. As he got older, he only became more skilled, even playing with the guitarist who helped him realize his dream without even knowing it.

A few years after he graduated high school, Ren decided to share his skills with towns and villages outside of his own, inspired by his friend Lily's confidence and desire to travel and experience new music and dance. So, with a bit of planning the two traveled to Aurelia together, where Lily showed him just how exciting performing in a new place could be. At present, Ren travels wherever he has a gig, playing for even big cities in Grento from time to time. However, there's still nothing like sitting at the fountain in Aurelia's town square as the sun sets, plucking away at his guitar and playing songs only he knows the notes to.
