I. BACKSTORY

Levi grew up on his family's ranch with his mother. His mother was very controlling and strict which drove Levi to cut off contact with her. He decided to join the military where he met his future wife, Lilith, and platonic partner, Antoni.

Levi wasn't an exceptional soldier but could follow orders and handle animals very well. When the angels began losing ground, Levi started getting visions of the demon court, presumably sent from the higher angel Pahaliah. His visions gave the angels an edge that led them to confront King Jinx. Levi was the one to strike him down and strip him of his magic. Jinx severely cut Levi's wing.

After the war, Levi was regarded as a hero and idealized by his people. He didn’t appreciate the attention and became a bit of a recluse. With the support of his wife and partner, he was eventually able to come to terms with his disability and manage his PTSD. Lilith’s death had Levi regress for some time. He became overprotective and overbearing to his daughter until she moved away to start her own family.

II. CURRENT

In the present, Levi and Layla's relationship is strained. Levi still wants to be close to her while she keeps him at arm's length. But when Layla's husband passes away, Levi invites himself to move in with her to help her grieve and take care of her son, Gabriel. Levi inadvertently causes his grandson to fuse to Jinx's halo, giving him all the magical abilities of the ex king.

At first, Levi is very anxious around Jinx. Seeing Jinx centuries later after Levi's healed so much is... intense. After a while, Levi gets used to having him around.

Jinx picks on Levi constantly, making fun of his reputation, his age, and all of his decisions. For the most part, Levi doesn't care about what Jinx says. Even though Jinx caused him and others so much pain and suffering, he can't bring himself to hate him. He mostly sees Jinx as sad and pathetic.

Levi was a distant figure in Gabe's life until he moved in with them. He'd really like to become close so tries to spend time with and listen to Gabe.

Unlike most people, Levi isn't scared of Gabe or his powers. He has faith in his grandson to be responsible. He mostly worries that Jinx is a bad influence and tries to counteract his patrony with understanding.

Levi loves his daughter more than anything else in the world.
